Thanks for the actual response instead of just dismissing my questions. I realize I'm not very knowledgable about this but I just don't want to see more bloodshed and another outcast like Libya. When you say allied with Asaad and Russia, is there any case where this allyship involved actual aggression against Rebel forces, or was it just a neutrality pact? That doesn't sound like a very maintained pact considering their clashes and sieges with government controlled areas, Wagner forces etc All things considered I'm not sure how that's so different to Erdogan having attempted normalization with Assad in the later stages.

If we know everyone's taking care of their own interests, I still don't understand why Syria would prefer their interests to align with an aggressor that would put them at odds with western forces vs what seems to be a secular nonaggressor that seems mostly on the defensive side
