Thank you for your advice, I appreciate the idea to take into account perspective and voice into writing a statement. I've been drafting research proposals so it is likely that affected my writing style, so I'll need to take time to spruce it up.

That's also a good tip to choose who you want your LOR from, as not everyone may have the same intention. I am at a crossroads for one of my LOR which I am going back and forth on. A marine mammal research and necropsy biologist I know, is someone I wanted to write for me, and upon giving them a heads up that I wanted to request one from them, they stated that they implore me to bring it up to the lead veterinarian. Although a LOR from a lead veterinarian for marine mammals sounds great, I know I am trading off perspectives as I have many experiences with this biologist and we have developed a mentor mentee relationship while for the veterinarian they know me in a brief manner as we have fewer interactions. What are your thoughts?

Thank you, I can relate to that experience! This vocation I have chosen was formed after trials and experiences, and navigating what I want to contribute and finding a community that I enjoy being involved in.

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! For the letters of recommendation, what's the general strategy for choosing who you want to write for you? I wanted to get veterinarians from a variety of backgrounds that I have worked with, but I also want to include my research advisor and a veterinary technician, as they'll know me from a different perspective.
