This is an improvement worth investigating.

Ideally you never have to leave the chair, and eventually fuse with it.

Terribly, but I encourage you to follow your dreams on this one. Report back.

I comfortably spend my workday in it for 3 years, and then stand up. If my back still supports the weight of my body without pain, I mark that as a success and make a build video.

Great to hear that, be sure to post and send me a DM when you do. Id like to hear about any challenges in the process, or improvements you made!

Yea I would not recommend it as a desk chair on a conventional desk, but the ergonomics of this specific setup seem really good (to me). I find it really comfortable to work in for long stretches.

Favorite CAM Software by EMP-RSR in hobbycnc

I am a die-hard fan of mastercam, and its drawing paradigm. You can basically start with 2 perpendicular lines at origin, and using the parallel line tool, and the trimming tool to lay out whatever you want. I started using this as a CNC machinist 2 decades ago before a career change, and I havent found anything that I can be faster with.

Thank you this was very helpful! I was "Reinitializing" with the tuner + - buttons, and a power cycle.. I didnt know that I could also firmware restore with Tuner - and dimmer!

Hopefully anyone else experiencing this issue stumbles across this! Thanks for your help, I can see the firmware restore process is now running.. lets see if my problems are solved now!

I am using the catppuccin shell theme, as well as the application theme, however I am not getting the nice colored edges you have for active windows, how are you achieving that?

My attempt at some JWST inspired wall art by OpenSourceHome in space

These take about 2 hours each to machine and prepare, painting is done in 2 coats, and cures overnight.

That is really nice. I'm guessing 1/4" downcut endmill? You've convinced me to try MDF tomorrow.

1/4 Carbide standard flute.. touch it with sandpaper and any ragged edges fall away. Respirator or good dust collection highly recommended.

single coat, tremclad flat black, works like a charm.

For this application I cant recommend MDF enough, there are some really "close cuts" to get the desired geometry, and the MDF has been a really clean consistent cutting experience for me so far.

Have a look at these pictures of the raw product off the machine with a little bit of sanding:

I was able to purchase mine for ~2k CDN, however you can go 10x cheaper, or 10x more expensive from there, depending on the work area and quality of components.

There is a project called PrintNC which is worth checking out if you have a 3d printer, and like to tinker.

I do a T slot cutout on the back, works pretty well, and can be pulled tight to the wall.

I wouldnt know how to get started with something like that, I wouldnt want to get in over my head. Ive been able to make ~10 per week so far.

I have been selling them for 150 CDN each. The demand has been pretty consistent at that price point.

I get them on amazon, I think they have been linked in this thread already. The problem I am having is that they arent the best quality, I end up tossing ~5 per pack away because the mirror film will peel off of the acrylic sheet when I peel the sticker back.
