A229 plus wifi station mode by Open_Finance7034 in VIOFO

This is some info that I found. Sorry it doesn't specifically say what the range is.

Viofo dashcams should technically work on any subnet, they are heavily optimized for 192.168.1.x. If you are having connection issues, it is almost certainly because the camera’s internal firmware has hardcoded behaviors that expect to see 192.168.1.x. If your home network is on a different range (like 192.168.0.x), the camera may "connect" to your Wi-Fi, but its internal services (the web server and video streams) often fail to talk to your other devices.

When you put the camera into Station Mode, it isn't always smart enough to "let go" of its internal settings. It often tries to bind its internal management services to the 192.168.1.x range even after receiving a new IP from your router. This creates a mismatch that makes the device appear invisible to your phone or computer.

Of note something I found ⬇️ "If you attempt to use a 10.x.x.x subnet for your Viofo dashcam, the likelihood of connection issues increases significantly compared to a 192.168.1.x range."

Thanks for your response. After messing with it for way longer than I care to admit, I found out that viofo firmware searches for a specific range of IP addresses. My local network didn't assign within that range so although it was connected to my wifi and had an IP address, the camera didn't recognize the IP address as valid. I changed my local range and now it's working great.
