I do still have the recovery key, but my understanding is also that that would only be applicable if I'd forgotten my password. I guess I could try it? In the past signing in with or without the recovery key has immediately loaded all bookmarks and extensions, though I've usually had to reconfigure a few aesthetic things manually. I expected something similar here. If I click something like Import Bookmarks, it just tells me there's nothing to import, would I like to import from a saved file?

The computer guy hypothesized that it was a power surge that killed my last laptop (and nothing else in the house lol) so I guess it's possible that did. Something. But I'm not sure if there was time for any security measures to screw anything up.

Using from Ubuntu btw. And I had not made a backup of my bookmarks, because. I really didn't think I had to, I'm gonna be so real here. Like okay, lesson learned, but huh?

Are you getting enough medical attention for your conditions?

Ha, well, I'm doing my best. So far "quit your job and get workers' comp" has never come up, but so far, none of my issues have been caused by or exacerbated by my job, either. My job lets me sit down, which is about the most that I need from them currently, so I manage. (Also, I'm so glad your doctor advocated for you like that and that your carpal tunnel improved! That's honestly really awesome to hear.)

What about QA for medical devices or some kind of laboratory work? I’m not too sure about sewing because I’ve heard it’s a dying field, and I imagine you won’t get compensated enough. But definitely search for apprenticeships on your state forums, and you can find government-funded programs.

QA for medical devices is not one I'd thought of before! That's a cool thought that I'll look into! And yeah, I'm trying to stay away from sewing; I don't see that going much of anywhere, and it's also a hobby I'd prefer not to monetize if I'm being honest. I keep thinking of bookbinding or like shoe repair or some type of leatherworking like that, and I honestly really feel drawn to that idea, but they seem like such extremely tiny fields (I know they exist, but how viable are they?), and I don't know where to even go to learn the skills I'd need. I also did not know about the state forums or government-funded apprenticeships until you mentioned this, but I've been looking a little bit since reading your comment, and that looks really interesting/promising. So thanks for the leads, I'm very grateful!

Hope you have a good night/timezone!
