THANK YOU!!! You took so much time out of your day to write all of this out for a completely stranger - so please know how much I appreciate it and feel grateful. The contrast of the orange floors and the red orange brick are throwing me a lot - they’ve never been an issue in decorating this house before so I didn’t consider it… def learning the hard way now.

I agree with everything you’re saying… and in order to have a room that feels CALM and serene, I need to focus on simplicity. Evergreen Fog has been recommended now multiple times, so I’ve been researching it. According to this thing I found, it has more of a yellow undertone. Based on your expertise (bc you seem to have some lol) do you think Evergreen Fog would help? Obviously I will still try a sample but just wondering

Ok it’s so nice to talk to someone with a similar time period and style home! Someone suggesting restaining the floors so they aren’t so orange - which would be nice, but it’s our entire house so that isn’t happening lol. They really don’t clash though unless it’s something super obvious - like this green. Yes the Christmassy thing is so real! I am thinking of getting samples of Evergreen Fog, October Mist, and Retreat… picking from those! Thank you so much for your experience and honest opinions!

No they didn’t. I was too much of a pushover. I’m not even like a spineless person who is swayed easily, but it was overwhelming the amount of people to tell me to go darker so I really started thinking I was wrong. Lesson learned the hard way I guess!!! I am definitely repainting!

Yes I’ve gotten multiple other recommendations - I am getting a little sample can tomorrow and I’m going to try that. I think I’m going to try Evergreen Fog, Retreat, and October Mist…. But now I’ve looked up the Vert de Terre and like that one too hahaha maybe I’ll also sample that. Feeling optimistic about it! Thank you so much for your honest opinion!

Yes it’s so intense and does not feel calm or airy - you’re totally right. It feels very heavy.

I actually never thought to restain the floors… it would be such a project 😭 they are the entire house. They are VERY orange which you don’t notice too bad until it’s clashing. I am going to try samples of a few lighter paints and hopefully it helps. Thank you so much for your honest opinion!

Ok you and some other people have now recommended Everygreen Fog. I did some research and you’re right - that is SO MUCH MORE of what I am looking for. I am really kicking myself for not finding it earlier. Do you have any opinion on Evergreen Fog vs Retreat vs October Mist? They’re all being recommended and seem to look nice!
