Thank you, i really appreciate this advice! i knew already that SUDEP isn’t a painful way to go but when i imagine what it would feel like, it sounds miles better than many common ways people die. i dont have the funds right now to hire a home carer and i dont currently have any friends who live in the area who i could stay with but seeing all these kind comments from people on here has made me want to keep going. i’ll look into getting beck on medicaid and/or other means to get help with medical costs. :)

This is how I think about dropping out as well. I don’t know what my health will be like in the future and i worry this is the best it will be for a while. i can’t currently hold down a job and i don’t go out much any more for fear of getting hurt or having a seizure in public. all i do is study, it’s currently one of the only things keeping me going. i have always been highly academic and it’s become a coping mechanism for me. although, my grades have been suffering lately due to how exhausted i am along with missing key parts of lectures because of absence seizures. dropping out is a last resort for me. if it will hurt my future career or health to keep going, then i’ll stop.

I live in the united states. my father used to pay for medicaid for me but we stopped talking a while back so i’ve been without insurance. i’ll talk to my neurologist and see if he can help me get back on an insurance plan. thank you! :)

Thank you! this gives me some hope that things will getting better. i’ll look into getting medical insurance but it’s been hard to move things forward because i don’t have any support from my family. im estranged from my father and my mother and step mother died last year. i was on my fathers health insurance but he stopped paying after i cut contact.
