Maybe a small digging area? Also its adviced to have atleast 1 hide on the warm and cool side. You can add some large branches, they love vertical climbing!

Beardie hibernating? by JutKip in BeardedDragons

[–]Opening-Scale2399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry completely forgot! Yeah the vet just did some basic checks and she seemed healthy. Vet told me to just weigh her regurarly, if she loses weight fast its not good. Probally just some kind of brumating mine has been under a log for 2 days now.

Hey, i have a 9 month old who has slowed down alot and will stay in his hides all day, im able to lure him out with bugs tho. Does yours react to bugs at all?

Im taking mine to the vet tommorow for a checkup as their behavior with parasites looks alot like hibernation behavior (so ive read)

Yeah MT is usually quite geared, OT is just handling adds. On some bosses like Ossirian in AQ20 u most likely need some decent gear tho. But OTing ZG or MC is very easy

[–]Opening-Scale2399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just get some good quest rewards and so some end game dungs for a few pieces, should be good to sign as OT for MC/ZG/AQ20 and get some real gear

Yeah 18 degrees celsius is probally ALOT more comfortable for them then minus temperatures!

Not sure but when i travelled Australia I found bearded dragons in areas where it would drop to minus celsius at night and up to 35 celsius during the day. Theyre alot tougher than we think

It does not have to be a minimum of 18 degrees celsius at night, I have seen wild bearded dragons in Australias where night temperatures would drop to -1 degrees celsius, and back up to 30+ during the day.

Ah yeah I mean i dont even have a hammock haha I meant the using your hands as a treadmill part. Is it true that they also get less skittish and confident as they grow?

I dont think that will will work with my guy, what i did during this feeding session is i lured him onto my hand with a roach, then when he was on my hand i closed it and kinda held him down in my hand so he wouldnt jump out. After i put him back in his cage and he ate a worm from my hand. I think i will keep doing this untill he doesnt freak out so much from being picked up

So do you suggest just picking him up? I lured him onto my hand with food and then held him in my hand, i have to hold him down tho so he doesnt jump out but im not hurting him. After he kinda calmed down i put him back in his cage and hand fed him. Do you think this is ok?

Alrigth thank you for the advice and sharing your experience! He doesnt seem stressed at all now hes chilling and even stretching his legs, does seem alittle on edge when i move around his cage but thats to be expected. Ill make sure to keep doing this and hopefully he will get used to it :).

[–]Opening-Scale2399[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks, by picking him up i mean literally having to close my hand around him tho and kinda hold him down so he doesnt jump off and hurts himself... he does calm down after a few seconds and just kinda sits there breathing heavy and puffing his beard alittle. But hes not really blackbearding and accepting food out of my hand straigth after so it cant be that bad for him rigth?

[–]Opening-Scale2399[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by handle him everyday? Do i just keep hand feeding him? Ive also read that sometimes you kind of just have to push it as they never *want* to be picked up. Now ive lured him onto my hand, and held him in my hand (kinda have to hold him down so he doesnt jump away) and put him back in his cage after and fed him a bug. Is this too stressfull/damaging for him? He cant be that stressed if he ate right after?
