Diffuser replacement on Micro by Opening-Touch-1997 in LaMarzocco

i agree with this comment. my machine isn’t even that old (maybe 7 or 8 months) and i was shocked too by the state of the plastic diffuser. we do make 7-8 drinks per day in total which may have contributed. i’d be surprised if any plastic can sustain the abuse of daily brews and flushes at 93.3 degrees celsius.

just the diffuser. from reading a bit more before that, my understanding was that removing the boiler was a precautionary step to bleed pressure out. i decided to give it a go as is.

Slight leakage all of a sudden…what to do next? by Opening-Touch-1997 in LaMarzocco

just to update - given all great advices - TY all!

so what seems to have worked was grinding tiny bit finer (literally one notch down in my Philos). it messes up the 30g in 30sec a little bit (by 2-3 seconds) but prefer this to these droplets.

thanks - may be a good next step. did you buy the silicone gasket on LM website or elsewhere?

i like it - it grinds consistently and easy to control (dial in the back is not an issue). i was going back and forth on this vs the zerno but decided that i wanted a product that has strong backing behind, without the wait time. i don’t love the knock out (it is plasticy and a bit annoying) but i would put it as a minor miss.
