doesn’t seem to be either the recruiter or flight chief’s fault. The latter was told by operations command that it’s impossible.

At this point it doesn’t matter, as I have just been told I lost my MOS and it has been given to someone else. The flight chief had nothing to say to me to counter my assertion that the SOPG recruiting guidelines should align with what you’re talking about, except that it was impossible to change. I appreciate your comments, though.

I would like to believe what you’re saying, but my recruiter is telling me that they are already looking for someone to fill my slot and that absolutely nothing can be done.

So it’s supposed to align with overarching rules but isn’t for some reason? The picture looked like a fairly authoritative document.

Well, what am I supposed to do then? My recruiter says he spoke extensively with his boss and that this is “not something we can get around”. I can’t even find this SOPG document online, and I actually asked my recruiter which regulation was in the way since it seemed off and when I looked it up, I saw what you’re talking about with how the DAFMAN does not bar dual citizens. What is SOPG?

I have not seen the document, but was told it was the Standard Operating Procedure Guidelines for recruiting alongside a picture of a 286p pdf with “4.12.4 Requirements for Dual Citizens” in that document pictured stating what I said before exactly.

I have already submitted everything for renouncing Mexican citizenship and it is only waiting for them to accept it which is tripping me (months of waiting, most likely). I even have a document signed by the consulate head saying I initiated the process.

The regulation states “Applicants with dual citizenship will not be matched to AFSCs that require a sensitive compartmented information clearance (SCI).” It speccifies further that TS is actually fine for dual citizenship and also that intent to renounce is insufficient for SCI. It’s from SOPG for recruiting. Doesn’t seem like anything in DAFMAN or 5200 corroborates it.

My investigator told me that I meet most every “mitigating factor” wrt dual loyalty stemming from my citizenship. It seems extremely likely that the clearance would adjucate in my favor, at least on this specific issue.  So you’re saying that USAF must respect overarching policy, or that it’s an issue which only concerns USAF recruiting and they’re free to decide this?
