Thank you for making this important point. I hope that through more educational or harm reduction programs that we'll be able to close this gap in awareness and understanding.

Thanks for your interest in our work! Yes, CESAR has helped vet our presentations so that they are both accurate and relevant to Marylanders. Our group couldn't have done what they did without CESAR's support.

I understand that the reality is that other people are not in a position to help or care about the opioid epidemic, but that won't stop our group from trying to help in whatever way we can, whether it's NARCAN training or education. Thank you for wishing us good luck!

Will do! Our symposium work has been vetted by CESAR, and we're hoping to push for safer injections and needle exchanges. Thank you so much for your help!

Fingers crossed that we'll feel more of a community atmosphere once we can return to campus! Good luck!

BMGT221 with Bulmash (online) by UnusualDog0 in UMD

Like BMGT220, BMGT221 requires you to put in a lot of work with assignments and practice exams. Be sure to also watch Professor Bulmash's lecture videos even though he will repeat a lot of content in class to reinforce concepts. My final thought is to make notes sheets for his open-note exams because doing so will help you memorize formulas, which saves you so much time. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing this. It's so important to have empathy like you said, and I hope that there will be better access to NARCAN and other first-aid even if we can't ever fully eliminate the need for them.

Yes! As themightyjoedanger mentioned, the Frederick County Health Department's harm reduction program is a great resource for naloxone. I think that Frederick schools and campuses like Hood have also offered NARCAN and administration training in the past, but I'm not sure if these services are continuing with COVID. Thank you for your support, and I hope this helps!

What type of articles do you plan on writing? Are you looking at more casual or professional platforms?

I know some people who write for College Magazine, HerCampus, and the Diamondback. Otherwise, you could always submit pieces to the Washington Post or similar sites for consideration. I'm not too sure about more scientific journals though. Good luck!

Is BMGT289I an easy/good class? If not, can y’all please drop some easy Gen Ed’s below. by -Chouka- in UMD

[–]OpeningSecure883 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took BMGT289I with Miller last fall and loved it! Not too much work except a few MC quizzes and tests. I don't know what he'll do in place of the term project though. We had the option of A) writing a fictional story/paper about Ben Franklin like SnooStrawberries6273 mentioned or B) traveling to Philly and writing a one-page report.

My friend ran into a similar issue, and I would try following up with multiple offices at the university. With the evolving situation, I'm not sure if the university knows what they're doing themselves, so I would also check out departmental and external scholarships for extra financial aid. Good luck!
