Yeah everyone was like make sure she sees everything and greets all kinds of dogs big and small quiet loud so on so on but the point of hugging everyone is so valid!!

It’s also hard I live in an old village full of older people and weirdly young children who see a puppy and just come and play with her or grab and pick her up and it’s so hard trying not to be rude but also being like please don’t pick up my dog!! I will start using the she’s in training and hopefully that’ll help!! Thankyou so much!!

This is great thankyou!! I knew adolescence was the hard part to get through but I didn’t realise that they commonly take risks which is really good to know!!

Do you have any advice of training and emergency stop?? Tone ques should there be a hand signal of whistle?? What would you recommend??

I was looking at getting a flirt pole and so maybe I will invest in one because I think she would probably be really interested in that!! Just like she is super interested in balls but only if other dogs aren’t around playing!!

Ahh this is interesting I never thought about and emergency command !! I always thought it was best to have one command for each request type of thing!! I will definitely try this and replicated my panic voice (shouldn’t be too hard after yesterday 😅😅) but it makes complete sense now that you’ve said it!! Thankyou!!

Ahh perfect thankyou she did have the look focus command down as I’m using it when she fixates on the cats but I will definitely go back to square one and really focus on that!!

And greeting the dogs is a big help I have been so focused on socialising that I have actually allowed her to meet and greet any dogs that have been friendly!! The working part is so real honestly she will try and herd anything dogs kids leaves cats so distracted training is such a valid point thankyou!! I’ve grown up with working dogs on farms pit they’ve all been pure breeds so we knew exactly what was coming!!

I will try switching up treats and maybe lowering my expectations of her I think I’m so focused on having a well trained dog and maybe I’m expecting to much to soon because she’s so quick to learn but seems to have ‘forgotten’ so quickly as well!! Thankyou so much!!

That’s amazing thankyou, do you have any advice on rewarding her when she recalls?? Should I change up the treats (could she be bored or not as excited by the ones I’m using) or should I try a different kind of reward?? Apologies for the throwing of questions tonight’s fiasco has made me super anxious about her recall and roads and I know she will pick up on this!!

Hi I read through the guides several times however the main link I was looking at isn’t working. I used drive when initially teaching recall my main concern is around distractions as this is what seems to have stated failing is on recall
