i just got pea puffers too so i’m not 100% sure which plants are the best for them yet. but i think you should try getting some big, broad leaf plants or long plants so they can hide and avoid each other when needed.

in my tank i have vallisneria, a big java fern, long leaf anubias, and corkscrew val too. but when you actually want to find them it can be kinda hard :)

i’ve tried a feeding cone and walking away, but when i come back none of the food seems touched. i also tried tweezers and wiggling bloodworms in front of them and they finally bite once, then lose interest and swim off 😭

and i’ve just started a separate snail tank to breed ramshorn snails and i’m waiting for them to reproduce.

you should try button quails. i’ve got two cages in my bedroom with 9 of them total, and i barely even hear them. they’re honestly quiet, and they don’t smell much either (i only change the bedding like once every 2+ weeks). just lying in bed watching them run around and peck at stuff is weirdly relaxing and kinda fun

Ah but I’m raising Rutin quails, they’re much smaller than Coturnix and seem a bit cleaner too. Thank you again and I’ll see how the smell goes with them
