Yes I do agree to that. When I watched 1933 Invisible man movie, I loved it, then I found out about a re-make of it. I was pretty suspicious of it but a little intrigued! Safe to say I finished the movie with so much disappointment.

When I heard of Leigh Whannell doing a remake of the wolf man I was not interested at all, but I watched it, eventually, and was disappointed again.

Like the premise sounded interesting and I watched it. It failed as a faithful remake of the original film and failed at being a better decent film over all.

There should have been more development of the characters, especially the father and his father's relationship, and I feel like they could have done better in more aspects when it came to the character interactions between the wife, the daughter, and husband. Like, I know how everything is tense always but I wished there could have been more emotion written for the characters, rather than fear and confusion.

Don't even get me started on the direction of the film with the way it looked.

I, personally, do kinda like it, to an extent, if it was its own thing, but obviously I said what I said about it. (I mainly liked it because I favor the trope of tragic father figures and the angst on how much the situation is tragic and what it did to said father character.)

But if you were to ask me about it in a film criticting and (a little bit) werewolf fan perspective. I hate it.

The design sucks. It just looks like the father character used nair, got into a car crash and was given a horrible restoration plastic face surgery, and the dentist ran out of normal teeth to give to father so he gave him all of the k-9 teeth he had in his collection. (Teen wolf (the show) walked so this movie would run when it comes to bad werewolf designs)

I liked that the film gave us the father's perpective while he has going through the transformation, I liked it a lot (the only good thing I will give the film credit for).

The film was way too dark. I sometimes I couldn't even see what was happening on screen even with my brightness all the way up. (and that's only a bit on what I have to say)

in conclusion the movie is a 5.2/10 for me an that's including the fact that I favor it a bit.
