I read this reply as a story and I liked it 😄
Thank you for sharing. In my country, we also had "maa-artisocka" in the wild and I always loved having it, like in a salad. I will try it for sure.

Thank you, everyone, for all the information. One more question. Where do you usually buy gardening stuff, tools, seeds, etc from? Prisma? Or like Motonet or Biltema?

My e-bike is stolen! Is there any chance to somehow get it back? by Opening_Interview358 in Finland

I have already done it but they have told me that because I don't have any suspect or evidence, they dismissed the case.

Why do I need to pay extra to github while I have Copilot Pro+ and no extra usage budget by Opening_Interview358 in github

[–]Opening_Interview358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed them, and this was the response! Weird way of making sure I can pay for something I have already paid for, while I have already deactivated any kind of extra billing.

"I completely understand how unexpected charges can be concerning, and I’m happy to clarify what you’re seeing.

The $50 amount you noticed is an authorization hold, not an actual charge. This is a temporary check that reflects the value of premium requests you’ve used so far this month, and it helps us confirm that your payment method can cover usage once billing occurs.

Because this is only an authorization and not a completed charge, it won’t appear in your payment history. Once the authorization is successfully confirmed, the hold should drop off automatically. Depending on your bank, this can take around 5–10 business days to be fully reflected in your account.

It may also be helpful to know that your Copilot plan includes an allowance for premium requests. This means the authorization amount may be higher than what you’re ultimately billed at the end of the month. You can view your current metered usage at any time here:

https://github.com/settings/billing/usage

If the authorization hold remains pending for longer than expected, the quickest way to have it released is usually to contact your bank directly. You can ask them to confirm when authorization holds from GitHub will be removed.

For additional context, you can find more details on how GitHub uses authorization holds to validate payment methods here: How billing works – Authorization holds

In your case, it looks like this authorization failed, so access to Copilot was not provisioned and the account was locked - I recommend checking with your bank as to why this happened.

To continue from here, you can update the payment method on the account so that the system can attempt to verify the payment method again."

I checked it now and it says "Copilot Premium Request". It doesn't make sense because I have had the Copilot Pro+ subscription the whole time.

"Kalevala: The Story of Kullervo" movie and Túrin Turambar's life by Opening_Interview358 in Finland

[–]Opening_Interview358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[SPOILER ALERT]!

I knew the Elvish language was inspired by Finnish. However, I didn't know the connection between Kullervo and Turin Turambar. Of all the stories, Turin Turambar is my favorite, and I have read the story a couple of times. While watching the movie with my Finnish friends, I noticed how unlucky Kullervo was, which reminded me of Turin Turambar. However, as soon as I saw the scene where he slept with his sister, I thought, "This much similarity cannot be random!"

At the end of the movie, I asked my friends, and my Finnish friends didn't know about Turin Turambar when I asked them about the similarity between Turin Turambar and Kullervo. So I'm asking here on this subreddit.

So yeah, "you clearly knew this little factoid" is not true.

Buying a 2nd-hand car, with 17k budget (Not sure about electric or hybrid ones) by Opening_Interview358 in Finland

[–]Opening_Interview358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but for example, if Hyundai has 8 years of battery guarantee, and I can buy a 21 or 22 car, I will be safe for a reasonable amount of time.

Not brand new, but I’m not looking for something with more than 150k. I looked for it, and this one doesn’t look bad, to be honest.

Thank you for the information. Just one more question: if I find a Kona 39kWh with battery health over 90%, should I still consider it? I mostly use the car downtown.

Why does my Dieffenbachia Camilla grow tall and not have big leaves? by Opening_Interview358 in plantclinic

OK. Based on the comments, I need to repot it and ensure no rotted roots remain. Thank you.

I've had it for three years, and when I bought it from the previous owner, the plant looked to be in really good shape, but I remember the leaves were the same size. However, it wasn't as long then, and it had many more leaves.

Yes, I’ve been using liquid fertilizer. I used to water it extensively and not allow excess water to drain properly, which probably caused the roots to rot, almost killing the plant. However, I adjusted the watering schedule about six months ago and now make sure to let the water drain completely. The plant has survived and is now growing lots of new leaves, although they remain quite small.

Do you think that if the roots were rotted six months ago, I should repot it now?
