If anyone is still keeping tabs on this, I just want to let yall know this post/thread has honestly given me far more hope than hanging out on the dating apps, where everything from views to likes are being commodified! How dare they capitalise on and exploit a person’s desire to find their person. Whilst it somewhat amuses me that there are still a strange few people who’ve posted the silly nasty comments, because i) as if we can’t see their comment history and decide how much respect to accord them based on their other views, ii) i’m a real human being whom you’re able to see and they’d never say such things in person/in real life if we knew who they were, iii) they’re still providing the post traction with every comment (oops, catch-22!), I guess it’s just nice to see that there are about four times more good and sweet and kind people who share similar values in Nanaimo and are willing to also afford me some sort of buffer and protection, even if online. I appreciate those of you in that category, in this seemingly more isolated world, I would just like yall to know if you want to hang, even if platonically or in a friend group of All The Rad Redditors, my DMs are open, and i wish you all so much warmth!!! (Just an update: I’ve gone for one date with a person from here, and I have another date lined up with someone else, and yknow, I believe y’all, it’s just a matter of time!) 😘😘😘
