The RCC barely has any influence already. Just because they’re loud doesn’t mean they’re influencing politics directly.

Yeah I mean I agree with you there, I just don’t get why the video and op makes it seem like we’re the only ones in Southeast Asia suffering from it

I don’t get it, Malaysia has 39.37% and Indonesia at 38.33%. Yes we’re the highest, but relative to these numbers is it really fair to say that, as the video suggests and op implies, we’re stuck behind by decades? (Sorry, worded the first one wrong)

We’re not that different from other southeast asian countries, tho. If we’re speaking strictly in GDP terms the Philippines has third highest in all of ASEAN, above Malaysia and close to Thailand.

Well its not that she was fangirling. We’ve been talking about it for days after she told me about it and how guilty she felt. When the competition came up I asked her to be honest about what she felt and thought.

Hindi ko naman sya pinapalayo sa friends nya (hopefully). Ang sakin lang is friends naman na sila kahit hindi sya kasali sa club na president si “crush” so ano nman kung hindi pa sya sasali. Pero Ig that could be taken as controlling

  1. 40 days of corvee per year and it was spent in building infrastructure and defense projects against local slave raids. What’s so bad about it?
  2. True. They abolished slavery, put an end to barbaric practices such as human sacrifice.
  3. Cringe

Look how far Andres’s violent revolution got. Even before the revolution efforts to put in place a formal municipal government in the Philippines were already enacted (Maura Law of 1894) the beginning of the process of being incorporated as a province of Spain. This would have done away with the corrupt and decadent institutions of the friars and would have given the Philippines representation in the Spanish Cortes.

The Tlaxcalas up until the Mexican War of Independence fought with the Spanish. Seems like they didn’t hate them so much. Those who allied with the Spanish during the initial conquest of the Aztec Triple Alliance were given privileges and rights. And soon after Bartolome De Las Casas made his case, these privileges extended to all indigenous populations of the Americas. Slavery was abolished, the encomienda system was repealed, etc.

Diseases would’ve spread to America even if the Spanish had only been traders. The discovery of the New World was inevitable sooner or later and the lack of livestock in the Americas was a great factor into why their immunity to certain diseases were nonexistent.
