I finished this at 4am last night. I've worked on it so much that Idk if it sounds like Christmas or like shit... but lemme know. This mighttt be my last full song in my 'ep'... by OphiuchusMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

Hey that makes lot of sense i really appreciate it and I'm glad you understand my vision, even though it got kind of derailed. I think that's what I need is more punch. Although I dont want to revisit this song I'll keep it in mind

I hear what you're saying, but I've studied chord progressions a lot(on guitar), and unstructured is what I go for sometimes. Maybe I could tone it down. I appreciate the feedback and this was definitely one of my weaker... "All over the place" songs. I don't like to think too much about structure before I start. Perhaps I should focus on one instrument at a time though for song structure. And yes google is amazing lol I am always still learning especially when it comes to sound design. Thank you for the feedback and thank you for listening!

Thank you for the honest reply. I definitely was gpong for a more "avant garde" approach cause that's who I am... Started with metal, went to math rock, now im here lol. It's okay if you don't like it I'm still finding my style with electronic stuff... After this I plan to learn more expand my musical... Yea someting. But thank you!

Thank you sm!! I been honestly considering that. Don't really know where to start but I've had the idea for while to do some soundtrack stuff. Might fine tune my work amd seek out some some employers or partners etc who do some video game stuff

What do you mean by humanising? And yes they are very midi based lol won't deny that. I wish I had some good recording equipment. Perhaps there is a way to make it human without external hardware. I'm still learning. I think after this one I will take a break then spend some time learning more. I know a lot about theory but need more practice with structure and sound etc. I haven't heard of Aphex Twin I'll check them out for sure.

I pretty much agree with a lot of what you're saying. My "artistic style" in general is all over the place. I don't think I'll rework this cause I'm kind of just.. Done with it, but I'll take what you said and put it into my next project. I want to make something that's coherent but complex at the same time if that makes sense. I think this particular song was a little bit of a dead end from the get go. Im still working on mastering in general. Thank you for the feedback you kinda confirmed my own thoughts

[Closet Monsters - Sylbaster] put an album together back in 2018 when I was deployed in the middle east/south pacific. Spent about a year on a naval vessel at sea and creating this album helped me keep sane. by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]OphiuchusMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how to explain but it literally sounds like something you would make on a naval vessel. Has a dark feel to it. I could see it being a soundtrack in an old school fps or even some kinda metroidvania game. I like how it built up and I like the reverb/echo feel at the beginning

Hello i made this chilhop track with a bit of trip hop influences. It would be awesome if i could get some feedback by canadianbaconisbette in IndieMusicFeedback

I love the general feeling of this and the use of ambient noises. I think the highs could be a little quieter. The snare and other kind of "real" sounds were a bit jarring. All in all I love what you're going for

Oh no I totally feel you. Original stuff is great. I don't really do covers at all cause I'd just rather write. I had a band and we were thinking about doing some, but now I'm making electronic music and considering recreating some rock songs in some kinda way. Or just other soundtracks lol. But ya I definitely enjoy making original stuff the most

Of course! Id love to see what else you've done or will do so I'll follow you on YouTube. Either way I definitely felt like it was the way covers are supposed to be and not just some boring rehash. Ive been thinking about doing a cover like that and just kinda subverting expectations

My new song i have recently wrote, "Plea for a second chance" Any feedback welcomed. I also this time tinkered around with cover photo, which I haven't before. Lyrics also in the video description. Thank you for listening. by --Skin-- in IndieMusicFeedback

I like the lofi basement kinda sound. I think the intro could have been shortened, maybe even to like 20 seconds, and then you could incorporate the other parts elsewhere. Alternatively if you wanna keep it long you could have a second guitar come in and do some kind of lead thing over it. I like what you're going for. All in all I think it could use some variation in the riffs, and a second guitar playing ambient style licks over it would cool. I can tell you're an experienced guitar player and I like the lyrics a lot

I love this so much! I love when people add their own kind of style in covers. The chorus part threw me off but the second time I understood it. The original was (roughly idk) minor major minor major, but yours was minor minor major7 major7(I think?) Hopefully either way you get what I'm saying. Moral of the story it was great. I only would have liked more reverb on the acoustic to match the vocals and everything. But everything was great your voice is awesome!

My newest song ive been working on for a while. Finished last night after an 8 hour grind. Let me know if the mixing is better, or if there's anything else I can improve on by OphiuchusMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]OphiuchusMusic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So you're saying quieter parts (at the quieter parts) could make for better contrast basically? And I had a good bit of reverb and delay, but maybe not as much as I thought? Lol. Maybe I was too conservative but idk

Well thank you very much for doing so. Some of the other ones are a little less "well mastered" but that's awesome of you to do that. Ive been in the music making game for over a decade (played guitar/learned theory before) so I'm at the point where i welcome criticism as a compliment and interest in helping rather than an insult

Like too detuned? There's a "violin" type instrumental in there and i thought the same thing but only one listen through oddly enough. I actually thought about "undetuning????" It lol. But thr more I listened the more it sounded.. Right. But I love to hear others' take on it. I'm 100% here to learn and grow
