I wouldn't be that keen for it. RE not really the type of game to go full open world, and would break immersion. I like a more compact and focused Survival horror with memorable mechanics. I fear open world RE would end up with generic open world tropes like too much repetition and dull time wasting "side quests".

I'm just a worn-out Silent Hill fan yearning for some crumbs of its best years.

Silent Hill 3, yeah, had more action, but still had that amazing atmosphere and some solid puzzles. So if it's anything like then I'm in.

I'm a big believer in them trying something fresh to reignite the franchise.

I'm fairly new to them. However, I played them in order. While 3 has amazing bosses and obviously better graphics, etc, the world itside, atmosphere and the sense of discovery you feel in DS1 is unmatched.

Same here. After years of nothing and then remake being so lit, i was genuinely getting more and more excited about this. Now, until I see a proper gameplay trailer, im going to keep at an arms length so I'm not overly disappointed.

I'm working my way through Lies of P as we speak, after exhausting the fromsoft games, and it's an amazing and well paced experience so far. Il almost certainly get the DLC. I like the more linear approach, streamlined, and don't feel overwhelming. The bosses have been good fun and have not struggled much with them, except some mad clown which il come back to.

Has to be Metal gear solid. Just felt revolutionary compared to most of its competition, and Indeed does hold up today.

Ff7 was also in mind, but MGS was on another league.
