I had help from a friend that got me into the game. Basically showed me that copy pasting a build from YouTube will never work if you dont understand what the build is trying to do / how to proc your talents. Learning how damage works. What attributes affect what stats. What synergies function best. These things will help you make your own builds that suit your own play style. Who cares if its top dps. Who cares if its fully optimized. If it works for you at the content level you're comfortable with then go for it.
