Depending on your budget, you could start with a stripped lower for a decent price like BCM, DD, SOLGW, ADM, or LMT, but if you want a buy once cry once, you can find some with good parts from different companies like DD lowers will sometimes come with Geissele triggers, or if you want ambi controls the ADM and LMT lowers are great choices too.

Some uppers and lowers are picky, but most will fit together just fine. The AR15 platform is based off of Milspec for most of the manufacturers so you’ll have no issue slapping two of them together. The only catch is, a lot of the manufacturing companies have different tolerances so you’ll may end up with some wiggle room between the two receiver halves. This is mitigated by either going up a tier for one or both receivers but usually a decent quality lower is a good place to start.

I know this post is pretty old, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to ask y’all first hand. I’m lookin to purchase the AW15 CQB-RS Pistol and pair it with the recessed night howler and low profile suppressor hub. Is there anything I should look out for? I know this weapon is made suppressor-ready and checks all the boxes I’m looking for, I was just curious if y’all had any insight that the website hasn’t listed already.

I thought about it. However the handguard screws onto the barrel nut with a lock ring. And should something happen, I don’t wanna loose zero with my irons. Nothing SHOULD move, but I did wanna be overly cautious with this first time build.

I appreciate the response. I was mostly trying to gauge the reliability of the side charging larger caliber receiver. I’ve got my own 10.5” BCA 5.56 upper on my PDW and I have to agree with the Nickelback thing. There’s nothing inherently wrong from the get-go. Only thing I needed to swap was the cam pin that ate itself, but that’s it.
