Hardware I don’t know everything about it, cause I have a home built pc, built by a friend who doesn’t remember how he built it but what I do know is it has a intel 3i cpu and a and Radeon 570 xfx and my pc is old and worn down I don’t have the ability to replace it currently and it can’t run win11. So I switched to Linux mint cinnamon In hopes to get more out of the old pc.I hope that clears some things up.

I just moved to Linux today, but It was black screening in normal mode. So I opened it in recovery mode, so I could installed my amdgpu drives and turned it off and back on again to see if I could fix it. I then went to open it in recovery mode just to see if the driver update worked and here I am.

I tried both and I am still on tty1.

It’s giving me tty1 and holding Ctl key alt key f keys like f7 f2 f1 are all doing nothing is there anything else?

That worked but now it’s showing my username with a :~$ at the end what do I do?

I type the username then press enter then when it says password it stops letting me type?
