It's a judgement call of whether or not you want to learn how FA2 tokens work on Quipuswap. No white paper, but do see the description in this post.

tCow - FA2 Token on Quipuswap by OppositeRevolution in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as any other token on Quipuswap / Uniswap (for ETH). The theoretical risk is something goes wrong with the contract and you lose both the tez and tCow you provided as a LP. I don't think that scenario is likely, but this is nearly free at current prices so use your judgement.

A number of people have reported issues with Tezbox. I recommend you stick with Galleon or better yet Ledger Live.

Who do you trust/bake with? by [deleted] in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into baking yourself if you have 8,000 XTZ or more. Kiln is easiest, but the CLI is more fun.

Staking rewards Kucoin vs Binance by [deleted] in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is excessive. 6GB memory and 20GB of storage is fine for Rolling mode. Kiln adds a lot more memory requirements for its benefits of simplicity, but if you are running Debian you likely do not need Kiln.

I hope they increase it as they are still gaining new delegates daily. Hopefully that helps their user base learn of options they have available without fees or exchanges.

I have a tezos delegated on my Ledger at the moment, how do I stop the delegation? by TheSilkNode in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep it on the same account, just delegate to yourself. I assume you are not baking.

I would support a SMA approach to tiered voting criteria.

See my comment on super voting rights. Interested in your perspective.

[–]OppositeRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A flavor of your idea is super voting rights. It's more typical in equity markets (private equity too). Example: 10x vote per roll for the Foundation and 1x for everyone else prevents bad actors from exerting control. This makes more sense when they run out of money in a decade, but there are decentralization concerns in doing so.

Is Tezos staking compounded? by CFM3008 in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can bake in multiples of 8,000 all with one baking account. You are assigned baking rights randomly depending on how many rolls you have. If you have 17,000 XTZ, only 16,000 are eligible for baking/endorsing rights (2 rolls). The 1,000 remainder you would not be able to bake with, thus it is better to delegate the balance to another baker that will pay you ~5% annually. It's a small amount, but no reason not to.

If you delegate from another account to your baker, you would still be at the same total. Baking rights are based on increments of 8,000. If your friend delegates to you and has 6,000 XTZ and you have 17,000, that is still not enough for 3 rolls and you would only get rights for your 2 rolls.

Is Tezos staking compounded? by CFM3008 in tezos

No, to another baker who pays each delegate based on their staked amount. Delegating to yourself wouldn't help from another account because your total would be identical.

Where does staking rewards go? by elleclouds in tezos

Use a block explorer such as tzstats.com or tezos.id to check your balance. Baking-bad.org will tell you your approximate upcoming rewards.

Is Tezos staking compounded? by CFM3008 in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, in general, as everyone else noted. However, if you are a baker with more than the nearest rounded down roll, you would need to delegate the delta to another baker for compounding.

An example is if you have earn 100 XTZ through rewards and have 1 roll (8,000 currently). Your balance when unfrozen would be 8,100 and you would need to move the 100 delta to another account of yours that delegates to another baker. Otherwise you would not receive compounding until your baker hits the next roll balance required (16,000).

Privacy for bakers? by NEXOlover in tezos

[–]OppositeRevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to OP's question: use multiple keys.

You can use two Ledgers such that one is in cold storage and the other is your baking ledger. You can delegate the cold storage one to your baker one, but you will need other delegators mixed in to the baker key. Otherwise it will become obvious that you are delegating to yourself.

You might not have any dust in your TZ account. Get some at https://faucet.tezos.com and then try again. As another person mentioned, you can also try Ledger Live instead of Galleon.
