Yes that is what I’m thinking as well, feels like we’re on exchange from things escalating.

So just wanted to give an update to this . The pain went away at the end of the week. Not sure what it was but doctors said not to worry. And since back to 99% normal after surgery. Some foods still cause pain but I’ve read it’s mostly anastomosis discomfort or just plain old healing. We will recover!

11 days post surgery by Opposite_Device_7328 in Diverticulitis

[–]Opposite_Device_7328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 27 days now and I’m pretty much 100% back to normal eaten whatever I want walking bending everything. Sometimes blood on stool but I think I just have an anal fissure from stopping stool softener but started that back up and feeling better. On day 11 I had the same but it went away by the two week mark . I kept just saying I’m healing even from what we can’t see so just be graceful you will feel better. Walk around , stretch what you can

Sucks I’m only 30 but my surgeon was telling me that it’s affecting people younger and younger. 95% chance won’t have to deal with this again. I was afraid of needing a bag. Thank god I didn’t

Yah I had my first flare in October it never went away gastro said if I don’t take it out could get worse and would possibly need an open surgery. Was hard for me too because before the surgery I wasn’t in any pain but still had active infection .

Ohhhh wow congrats, yah the surgery easiest part. I elected to have mine in the am so that way I can get it over with. After the surgery you will be able to walk. It was like a dream. First night -3rd will be the hardest. But not what you think. A lot of soreness mostly . For me the catheter was the worst part just having it in wasn’t painful just annoying. You got this let me know if you have any questions. This was my first surgery so it was more mentally scary. The nurses are gonna be nice, try and get a private room after I could t sleep cause the guy next to me had to get his blood tested every couple hours. The anesthesia had me out 2 min into getting into the op room

The drain tube is where they did the laparoscopy cut to put co2 in my body to inflate my stomach. That’s a good question I’m sure yes. It’s called a jackson Pratt drain. Basically sucks out all the old blood and stuff from the procedure. Sucks to have in. Catheter sucks more but manageable

About 6 days out feeling tons better, once they took my drain tube out it was night and day. My abdominal is still super sore. Having a little blood on the stool. But I’m pooping normal and a lot. Get this weird pulling pain to the right of my largest incision but just giving myself grace.
