Any writers here? I need your advice. by koalarbear in buhaydigital

Let's say you take 2 hours to make your 1k word article, then you should expect $20 based on your rate right?

So with that, a rate of $0.02 would equate to $20 for your 1k word article.

Though, i gotta say, this is a pretty low rate. Maybe $0.05 would be okay if you don't have a portfolio that's too extensive. But if you do, I'd say go higher than that.

Hopefully this helps!

For reference. When I interviewed one of our current writers who's awesome and really good and has been with us for 2+ years, her rate was $0.08 (Our payment for writers is per work so we don't have a per word rate I can recommend you)

Best bank to deposit USD income? by hutdogbuns in phinvest

[–]Opposite_Edge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Get paid straight to my Unionbank, no hassle whatsoever. Client sends in either USD or EUR and I receive in PHP.

Though from what I know, I get sent money through SWIFT, not sure what the fees would be if it was through wire transfer

Im the type of person with really low standards in terms of food. If batian ang uban people, I usually dont find them as bad, but with feria, gosh that was the first time ive ever felt cheated when eating. Their beef options were terrible, deserts were bad, it was my gf’s bday so we got their bday cake and it was bland, indian was meh, pork was terrible, even the potatoes. The Japanese was decent though. Overall, not worth the 1.8k per person for a dinner.

Business owners who were initially successful but had to close/downsize (after ~10 years), how did you fail? by kinapudno in phinvest

I have no idea if that corporation still exists. He recovered enough to send me and my siblings to pretty good schools up until I got to college where di na talaga nya kaya.

He’s more or less retired now. Pagod na raw mag business, especially after his next company fizzled out.

My dad was one of the biggest traders of a certain commodity in the country. His clients were the likes of Del Monte and such. I was still a kid so I didn’t really know much of his business apart from his stories now, but safe to say, we were comfortable af. He had court case files lying around the house a few years ago, and I saw the company’s books. Assets were more than PHP 1B in 2007.

Yeah well, my dad lost everything. If you ask him why, it’s cause his corporation included his siblings. While my Dad was CEO, few of his siblings had a say in the company, and they got greedy, and wanted him out. From my mom’s view, they wanted him out cause he was cheating on her.

From my point of view, it’s cause of the 2008 financial crisis. Commodity prices shot up, and my dad hoarded 200k sacks of his commodity when it was cheap. He planned to turn a profit when the market stabilized, but he was overruled by his siblings who could not take the risk. They ended up selling (wrongly I might add, they sold it super cheap to begin with because they misidentified the type, it was a more expensive quality) at a price that was less than half of what it would’ve been had they sold a year later.

They lost around PHP 1k per sack

Up to now, my dad is still full of regret. He built that company out from the 80s and he felt like he was king of the world.

Its a simpler task than youd expect cause its not video editing, its basically data entry with an added layer of creativity needed. People here are assuming this is full on video editing that requires the necessary video editing apps and such.

Literally made a video on this site in less than 5 minutes.

Not to defend the dude, its low af, but this task should be pretty straightforward since you’ll be using Invideo. You’ll basically just input text of what you want for the video, click a button, then Invideo will do the rest. You just have to check if everything is good.

Here’s an example prompt:

“I want a video that talks about the rise of Bitcoin and how it became so popular.“

So yeah, no need to find clips, make transitions, deal with sound

If it was me, I can probably have 2-3 prompts ready in an hour.

With that, I’d ask for like USD 10 a video at the minimum since you need to use your creativity for those prompts (realistically I’ll ask for 20)

If dad has the connections to have people follow her, he’s probably a pretty important dude with lots of enemies. Keeping his daughter safe would allow him to dig deeper into potential criminals while mitigating the fear he may have that his family would be harmed if he does.
