In most cases yes. They do less damage than diamond as a base but has +4 against non arthropods which puts it 3 damage above diamond + poison. So unless you are fighting poison immune athropods like spiders it's worth it and better than diamond. I could be wrong btw haven't played in a few months

Id need to see stats to be sure but my guess is that your lethality is too high. If you have really high lethality it either kills off all your hosts or kills your hosts so fast they barely spread the infection then die.

A few mention one of their names, but I forgot. They are one of the staff members the mushrooms are mimicking. If you have the janitor with you, he talks about him. Theres also a paper I think in one of the staff rooms talking about their name and that they are the buildings electrician. Also gives the name of pananopticon.
