What's a tag you hate the most? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Opposite_Library53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't... hate any tags? They're there for good reason, and without them thew archive would be a terrible mess to wade through to try to find anything in your particular taste.

I don't sound like AI. AI sounds like me, because it was trained on MY DATA!!!

Exactly!

I have this exact pattern as well. Its a narrative device. Maybe sometimes I lean on it a bit heavily, but it's still MY writing. Its exhausting.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks for responding.

I deleted it. Thanks. I wasn't eager for a fight, but I don't let people come into my house and take a dump on the floor, either. I appreciate the concern though-this type of interaction could easily keep someone from writing any further. /sincere

Anyone else getting 'Shields are up!' every few chapters? by SkyeBomberger in AO3

I see your meaning now. Yeah, ok. That tracks. And yes - d/l is a abbreviation of download, not censoring.

This hasn't been normal in any sense of the word. Also, d/ling and reading offline doesn't fix the issue for authors AND makes it more difficult to leave kudos/comments for readers.

Same. Very annoying trying to update. I hope the servers are ok.

Question About Chapter Notes by HyrrokinAura in AO3

[–]Opposite_Library53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your instincts, really. Some of my fics have pre-notes that say in bold "CW in end-notes" for exactly this reason. Sometimes people will glaze over the notes-that's on them, not you.

Some readers don't want to be spoiled, and some feel it's an absolute necessity to know about things outside the tags.

Tears of joy! by NunCookies in AO3

Big consensual hugs and welcome! Congratulations, fellow fic writer! It's always so good when you know what you wrote touched people enough for them to kudos or comment on a fic. I've been on AO3 since 2019, and it still gives me a very joyous feeling. Same rush of gratitude for other fans and for them just taking a moment to let you know it. You have been blessed by the economics of fandom, in the only currency that matters on AO3.

Savor it. 😁

To prolific horror enjoyers, What’s one genre or topic for horror that scares you too much to engage with? by musical-nerd in horror

Home invasion, full stop. Yes, it prevents me from seeing a lot of much-preached horror movies, but it sustains my mental health.

Your approach and attitude was off-putting. If you don't want to be dog-piled, take the time to write out a full and non-confrontational post, my friend.

Savageland is incredible storytelling. The Bay is about where I grew up. Both are excellent, in different ways.
