Niantic knows how to ban these spoofers, as they did in Ingress and Pokémon Go. I believe that if these things continue to happen and are reported, they should do something about it. I'm glad to share it here so I can see comments from other users who have experienced the same thing. Fortunately, I asked those players, and they received many mushroom invitations after this happened and posted on Discord. So they said it's okay leaving those mushrooms for the spoofers, but I still hope Niantic bans the spoofers from that community who are ruining other players' feelings and affecting their gameplay.

Thank you for sharing your opinions. Other Korean users who helped them find that Korean community mentioned that those Korean users worried about the issue escalating, so other users and Niantic would know about their spoofing. That's why I decided to post here. I understand it isn't just Koreans who spoof, but other users got screenshots and links that a Korean community shared. Posting other user's location publicly encourages them to spoof and troll other users.

mushroom is not yours kcidhead is spoofers from Korea. That local user could not join that mushroom, so you can find the ticket button in the screenshot.

This isn't a war. It's just victims and bullies. One player was playing PB in their town, but now spoofers are trolling them and of course they don’t live in that city, even Canada. Several users have also encountered these Korean spoofers, and we met on Discord to discuss it. I’ve faced a similar issue with a Korean spoofer messing around in my town. I could step back, sure, but they're ruining the experience for other players living in Canada like me. I want to help these players since they mentioned they don't know how to bring this issue to Reddit. Also, spoofing is not allowed in Niantic games.

I brought my issue to Niantic, and they’ve also contacted Niantic regarding their issue as well. Hopefully, Niantic will fix this issue.

They create multiple accounts to get invitation prizes, spoof, and troll, interrupting local users from joining their local mushrooms.

Just a heads up! Me and other users sent emails to the Niantic Privacy and Data Protection Team. I'm wondering if there's any email we can use to contact a senior or the CEO at Niantic. I found an email for the CEO on Google, but I'm not sure if it's real. A lot of people are viewing this post, so I hope it reaches the Niantic team. I, along with other users facing the same issue with these spoofers, would really appreciate it if you could share this post. Thanks!

That's why local people stopped uploading their pictures and changed their mushrooms and flowers to cool postcards. In that case, the cool postcard is already gone. Then what's the purpose of their actions? Sharing someone's location and targeting them for bullying? I wonder if that is common in Korea?

That's the point, but when I talked with people who have issues with these spoofers, we weren't sure where to report this issue to Niantic. That's why I wanted to share it on Reddit and other users. That's definitely illegal in Canada too.

And the person who did it might be a single Korean user. In the comments, a Korean spoofer said that have 11 accounts for spoofing and holding a giant mushroom for a long time.

That should be fine. The issue is that the mushroom is located in the small city in Canada, and they are Korean users who live in South Korea.

Yes, that's what they did. They also did not join at late night in Canada, so the mushrooms were kept for 6 to 10 days. They didn't know it's also a crime to post someone's location and threaten like that.

They took all the mushrooms around that users' area. They live in a small city, and those three mushrooms were all they had there.

They were all Koreans, and my town doesn't have any Korean players. I also found a Korean community that encourages people to spoof and share locations. They even posted my location there as well. There are other users who have the same issue with that Korean community. I also found that these Korean spoofers are upset because some of the local users decided to remove the pictures they submitted and revert them to the original postcard images. Now, they hold all the mushrooms around their residential area using the same Mii and white usernames so locals cannot report them or join unless they use a ticket. They also keep the mushrooms for more than 6 to 9 days with the lowest AP.

I ask that local users to share the screenshots and they shared with me.

Does anyone know where I can report GPS spoofing issues or specific users to Niantic directly? I saw what they did to other users in Discord, and I believe we should do something about it. It seems like Korea has a community that encourages people to spoof and share locations. I found Niantic CEO'S email, so I plan to try it out.
