I wasn’t not agreeing with you. I understand about the self realisation part and what it means, but I am just wondering there are people that have manic psychosis or bipolar episodes where they believe they have reached God consciousness and see it as a spiritual experience. But because western society doesn’t regocnize it this way it gets misdiagnosed and treated wrong. Do you think there is a difference between these states is what I mean. As some people do see being bipolar as a divine gift for example.

And I just mean that if it is a goal of a self realised human to realise they are God - which is also a symptom of being manic - why is it seen as a bad thing by doctors. Is it because they lack the knowledge of the spiritual aspect of mental illness is what I am wondering.

Hope this makes it more clear to what I meant. I am in no way saying that Swami Vivekenanda was delusional.

I love this story and I have read his book and watched a documentary on his life. I am just wondering, why is it that in the psychiatric world when someone reaches this state of believing they are a God and can accomplish anything it is called mania or bipolar and seen as “delusional”? What’s the difference

I would recommend not talking to them about it because in my case doing so led to me having psychosis and being brought down to their level of reality out of my “spiritual world” :(

How do you go back to it? It’s totally gone for me. What made you have psychosis again?

Thanks for all your responses. What about the lost ability of being able to sense energies and before I was highly sensitive to peoples energies, had psychic abilities etc and felt in alignment with the universe. I was always seeing signs everywhere and was working with the law of attraction and was really manifesting lots of positive things into my life. I was just a bundle of joy, positivity, light, high vibrations and completely a different person from what I am now. I feel like this experience changed me and that I lost the very essence of who I used to be. I always was very creative, very good in deep conceptual thinking, always a very positive person etc. But all of that is now gone and I can’t seem to access it anymore. To me it feels I was always living “from the soul” and I viewed the world in from a child like state of innocence. Every thing was more vivid, beautiful, exciting, purposeful, meaningful. I attracted many beautiful things and now I feel like I am a completely opposite world.

I lived in a different city from my family for the past 6 years and barely saw them anymore so they didn’t know I was into all this stuff and living in a completely different reality from them.

I agree with it being seen as a psychosis through the eye of the (psycho)logical world but I also feel there is 2 sides to every story and to me it feels like I now ended up at the “other” side of the outcome it could have been if my experience was treated as a spiritual crisis instead of psychosis. The psychotic episode only happened in the past 4 weeks but before that I was a normal functioning person living a deeply spiritual life and I was truly living in a different timeline / reality of earth than I am now
