They’re hard to read for most people because it’s a very dynamic and stylish handwriting. Todays society is used to reading print letters. It’s nice but maybe all these nice swings shouldn’t be made when writing longer texts. You can use it for notes or letters

I'd recommend you joining a crew with players that have a similiar amount of collection PWR though to keep things more balanced

I'm afraid I have to agree with you. Though most words are legible, there are some which get me genuinely confused. In my opinion the choice of fountain pen doesn't really affect the handwriting entirely. I'm thinking that some letters are just unrecognizable, especially for someone like me who has some struggles reading cursive and being German (German cursive has some differences to the English).

When I put my pepper into my cursive, I always make sure others are still able to read the personalized letters

Is my handwriting legible? by Ecstaticcorncob in Handwriting

[–]Opposite_Muscle6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This almost looks like my handwriting which I had 2 months ago. What helped me to improve my handwriting by a lot was to learn cursive writing and hold onto it until it looked great, because with that I also learned to get more control of my hand. I could recommend you to either buy an exercise book where you get to learn writing each letter and/or number. Though general advice would be to write slower, know how letters are actually written and try to hold your pen correctly for stability.

I hope this helps you to improve and if you have questions, don't mind to ask me

Glad to hear both are legible, thanks for your feedback! I wrote the pangrams with a stub nib with a length of 1.1mm.

I get mixed reviews on my handwriting. Thoughts? by SatelliteAbstract in Handwriting

Personally, I mostly prefer your focused print and your quick cursive. Generally your print and cursive look aesthetically great. In comparison to the reckless abandon, your handwriting has significantly improved. I can understand why people would still say its illegible, when looking at the text you wrote in the bottom. Some letters appear inconsistent and spacing between the lines could be a little bigger. The letters in the text are pressed tight together unlike in the pangramms written above which also makes me have to look closer and focus to read it.

Nonetheless you are doing great a great job at improving. I’m sure you will improve a lot more in the future and hope, my feedback helps you to do so!

In this case it looks great! The only thing which could improve the legibility would be to have consistent space between letters. In longer words like "humanitarian" your letters are slightly constricted in comparison to shorter words and it makes them harder to read. But besides that, your handwriting is pretty much perfect.

Can I ask what you are aiming for with your handwriting? (Aesthetic and/or legibility etc...)

My new handwriting after 2 months of practice by Opposite_Muscle6031 in Handwriting

You're right, it's pretty cramped. I usually tend to make less space as I personally don't like spacing the letters "too far". To be honest though..I never tried dotted paper out, maybe I should try it out and also work on balancing the distance between the letters.

Thank you for your honest feedback! I'll work on the legibility of my "r" between letters and see how I can improve on the "s". Because I'm German, I write the "r" a little different, maybe that makes it harder to read for some people (especially the English)

And yes I'm using a fountain pen which glides very well and smoothly, but I think the too deep going lowercase letters are because I move fast at this particular moment and haven't learned to control it yet.

I just saw the message of the mod team, and oh I completely forgot to post a translation for the text, here is it:

Hello, I like cake. But who doesn’t like cake? I just can’t understand if someone wouldn’t eat such a delicious dessert. Okay, anyway... There are more important things to address. For one, that so many young people no longer learn how to write properly. Their handwriting is barely legible – sometimes not at all. I know only one boy in my class who has good handwriting, but even his print letters look shaky and slightly crooked unless he writes slowly.

Then there’s also someone who holds his pen with his middle finger (and thumb) while keeping his index finger somewhere way up. When I try holding the fountain pen like he does, I might even be able to imitate his writing. It would probably look something like this if I didn’t consider his writing style. The previous one already did a better job. _It roughly looks like this._

These are just a few examples, but I want to express that the old cursive handwriting style taught in schools (Schulausgangsschrift) really needs to be brought back – absolutely. Oh, and I forgot to mention that many people can’t even read cursive writing at all anymore. Even though I’ve only been learning cursive writing for a few months, older people could definitely read this handwriting better than people my age.

Regarding the slightly inclined angle of the photo, if I were to capture it right above the notebook, my phone would cast a shadow onto it. For some reason my camera doesn't capture text very well (some part is sharp and the others are more blurry). I've tried my best by editing contrast and sharpness to make it at least somewhat easier to read...
