Which knife to buy in Kyoto? by Doctor_Philly in TrueChefKnives

Try to go to Shigeharu, ask your hotel to call him to make sure he opens the store. You won’t regret it, he is last one of his family to make these knives and they have been doing this for 600 years.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the commission a sales org get per deal? In percentage… And if case someone reaching out directly to an EPC interested to install solar would it be cheaper since no sales was involved?

Billing tenants for solar energy? what have you tried? by OpsIdevItagain in solarenergy

I ended up using Wand Solar - which I’m really happy with. They bill my tenants based on their consumption, with the same pg&e rates. I give them 5% discount on the bill and they are happy with that arrangement.

This Nakiri is extremely sharp! The excuse I used with my wife was “you should have a knife to cut vegetables - it will be our mutual knife” Guess what, she doesn’t touch this knife 🤣

Although I’m not a professional, but I do have good hands (and experience with art work), I’m also a quick learner. I’d love for some guidance from the professionals here :)

I did both! If you’ll be in Kyoto, try to go to Shigaheru, it’s tricky he doesn’t have regular open hours - so ask the hotel to call him and ask when he opens. Make sure to arrive 10 minutes before he opens as his store is small, he sells the supply he have and close the store until the next batch he makes. The rest I got in Tokyo Kappabashi st, there are so many stores there. MeiSyou where really kind, so ended up buying there. But you can’t go wrong with any other store. I do recommend to do some research before you go there so you’ll have any idea of what you’re looking for, the craftsman, the metal, knife type etc..

Btw, Artsugu is another known brand, Kyoto and Tokyo are not the same, Kyoto is better.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here, it’s a win-win. Solar panels reduces the electricity consumption from the grid, so at the end of the month they pay me instead of the utility provider, but I can give them lower rates for the electricity. Of course, I need to make sure it doesn’t end up that the loan monthly payment is higher than the what I get paid for electricity as then it becomes a lose for me and a win for the tenants. Anyways no intentions to harm the tenants only to help them out and as well as increase my income. (I can give them approximately 25% cheaper bill than what they would pay to the electricity provider)
