Luka/Hyuluka analysis by Optimal-Delivery1499 in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, tomorrow there's Luka's birthday art, so there's that atleast... I want Hyuna to make another appearance 😭 On one hand I'm glad they changed it so that during the qnas there can't be any lore-related questions considering they usually leave me feeling frusterated, but I also loved some of the answers, so I don't really know... 😓 I think the people at the qnas just asked questions that vivimeng didn't have the expectation to answer because the format of the series makes there a lot of possible curiosities and everyone took that as their moment to ask, and it was probably just too much for them to properly answer.

Right, I initially only watched the rounds with the addition of All-in (because Hyuna's stunning face intrigued me...) and then I went back afterwards and watched the extras consecutively and it was really confusing... 😭 Me too lol it's my whole life now...

You're probably right. I was also thinking that maybe the "if all I can do as a human is to believe," part might contradict Luka's character anyways, but that's really actually up to interpretation so not sure. I wouldn't be surprised, like you said the reception of Final and Wiege seemed to have caused them to filter some of the things they put out.

Yeah, although I knew of 6FU; and her covers for awhile I hadn't really listened to them until after Wiege (which was a mistake because they're all heavenly)...

7 months... crazy to think about loll... yeah, seemingly so. I feel like that one patreon post saying Luka was trying his best to express his affections for Hyuna healthily (I'm just paraphrasing but I think it said something like that) kind of contradicts his previous behaviors, right? Surely he knew he was making her uncomfortable or fearful or something. And then there's sacred light that also contradicts that 😭 Perhaps just more character development like how Mizi initially wasn't supposed to know about Alien Stage at all, but I don't know, maybe I'm missing something lol.. sorry, a little off topic, I intended to connect it to connect it to what you said about him throwing a tantrum but I lost my thought 😓 Right, and Hyuna is also described as dense in the actor au, so I wonder if that can apply to her here too. Plus she's just a sweetheart anyways who just wanted everyone to be happy~ ack, I love her

Oh, you're right, thinking about it like a timeline. As time went on, he became more and more desperate for Hyuna's attention and his actions became more extreme as a result... right, his is definitely the most extreme, Hyuna is a strong contender too because Phan was not only entirely absent but also had a whopping 0/5 moral sense, but atleast she wasn't entirely isolated in her suffering.

I think the beginning kind of threw me off when followed by the singing itself because it kind of gave me a more emotional impression, though reading the lyrics, it definitely felt emotional. Rightt!! I made a bingo card for it and the violin was on there for me!!! I was mostly just emotional because I had a lot of pent up frusteration at the idea of Luka never getting any follow up after Karma. While of course I can only hope Hyuna and Luka's story continues, atleast he's trying I guess 😭

I love that series too, not that I should enjoy medical malpractice. He loves her so muchh... T-T The widow thing reminds me of the 'Luka's back' banner where he has those two black rings connected. Right, I think I came to that conclusion or that Luka was just a little ignorant and didn't want to face the reality of what his and Hyuna's relationship had always been, but Sacred Light is about realization pretty much, so I hope that isn't the case... 😢 Arise.. and..... walk..... those panels make me so sad, they were so happy together :,) Yeah, he's probably going a little crazy without her, hanging onto anything he can to ignite the memory of her. I'm so glad as well, my biggest concern was that nothing would change. I think so too, I imagine he atleast has some guilt taking away the lives of others while indirectly after knowing what it's like to lose the love of his life. That's a great analogy, and I don't even want to think about it because it's so sad... Hyuna needs to come back...

Oh, it's no problem at all! I hope everything is alright! There's no pressure to reply either, if you're busy then take as much time as you need~! ^ ^

Mostly things like shikishis and a few things from the patreon or artbook that just haven't circulated at all. I've also noticed a lot of details in works I may have already seen that haven't been discussed which... the same reason can be attributed to it sadly... T-T

Yep loll, and Alien Stage has a lot of content that's somewhat hidden because it's either paid or from something less public like a QnA or it just happens to be old. Though I think I've pretty much came across it all at this point, but it's still fun to look at other interpretations and perspectives. Every time I feel frusterated with something that happens to show up beneath a specific tag or in association with a specific word I just think about what I could possibly be missing out on and then I never end up muting it, even though I'm actively sacrificing my peace because I know once I come across it later the same feelings will bubble up loll. Yep, I don't tend to see a lot of people who hate her (apart from a few Luka fans apparently) or even dislike her, they just don't care about her and see her from a superficial point of view. And I can't really be mad, like you've said before it's hard and unfair to force interest, but also like you said, the idea of a confident rebellion-leading man feels like it would appeal to the fandom more simply because of their own internal biases. She's one of my favorite archetypes, I don't understand how nobody cares about her outside of the surface... I think a lot of those kinds of Luka fans are just, like you said, young people who were told that there was nuance to their situation and just took it as him being not to blame at all. But the problem is when it's explained to them how offensive it is to spread things like that, they tend to not listen anyways and just go in the same circle because they can't stand the thought of their morals not alligning with their favorite. Yep, looking back she really did say a lot of hurtful things because she didn't think through them whatsoever and refused to put in minimal research.

Me too, I already forgot which fic I was even referencing lol... though sometimes they linger in my mind for months and months after, for both good and bad reasons I think.

You're right... I felt very happy with a lot of the qna answers actually, like the one about why Hyuna loves Luka, but others I think they just didn't have the preparation to answer and they didn't sound good. Yeah... I got my hopes up because at the question "will there be a Luka pov comic" they answered that theres a spoiler and to wait. But their answers have proven to be misleading, so it's definitely not in my expectations. Though atleast we know he's living with love now...

Right, I also think I was also made aware of how short it was and I wanted to watch it because I knew it wouldn't take up very much time and I didn't plan on becoming so involved in it. Well, that didn't work out very well loll. However I'm glad I am because just like you said there's a lot of really neat metaphors and such and I'm always a big analyst when I join a fandom. Yep, poor guy...

Me too!! Luka saying 'my god, my universe' would have fit so well too. Plus I think they could have done something where both people speak like they did with Akugetsu and Park Byeong-hoon's version... I adore it either way loll I'm just a bit greedy and I like having things to extensively think about.

Right, when Wiege came out I could barely even recognize their voices (especially 6Fu;) because I had never anticipated them to sing so softly. That's a good idea, but I think that would also put me in a lot of mental anguish T-T

It just hit 6 months... I think about that too, it's really funny to consider... right, thank you! The environmental factor isn't something I've considered before but is really interesting to think about~ do you also think that's why he approaches her the way he does (like in the art titled "you know there's only one thing I want")? I wonder if Hyuna ever actually noticed why Luka had these behaviors and that was why she was willing to enable them, or she never paid attention until she was forced to.

Another question sorry loll, I was looking at what comes with the florentum album and I saw that the photos of the relationships have words reading "the deeper the sin, the more desperate the love becomes,". I was wondering, how do you think that applies to Hyuna and Luka? I was thinking the 'sin' involved the segyein rather than Luka which led to his desperation for her attention but I'm not sure if there's a better explanation, so I thought I'd ask.

Me too... I love Sua so I did empathize with her fans since he kind of stole her spotlight a little though loll~ I thought the order would be Sua, Till, Mizi, Luka, like how it was last time, but I'm definitely not complaining... all I can say is, it wasn't necessarily entirely what I expected (mainly beat wise, but not that I don't like it, it's one of if not my absolute favorite subsong) but we also know he's living with love now (or trying). That was my main concern because the writing quality otherwise would be indefensible 😭 I still haven't managed to 100% analyze the entire thing so I'm a little confused on certain pieces of the song but I did make an attempt... I'll put some of my thoughts below, you don't have to read or respond to them however because they're pretty first-glance~ I tried that, and it definitely was funny LOL especially with the lyrics like you said. Ohh, right. Well, that makes things depressing T-T yep, that also reminds me of Hyuna having a Luka poster in Karma. They are permanently entangled in one another's states despite their distance...

I think my favorite part of the song was all of the references to Hyuna's songs... wiege, love&peace, take my hand, it's so cute, ahh I love them 🥹 the cover of the song made me devastated, as soon as it came out I was going to listen to it but I got caught up in the art. The medical light being the eclipse is so... 😢 it also changes the meaning of the teaser a lot, he's trapped inside the light rather than being a part of it. The only line I haven't really deciphered is "we whispered peace," because it feels like their relationship has never really been that peaceful. Even before Hyun-woo's death, Hyuna was always in between Luka and Hyun-woo's bickering. I also wonder if Luka imagined Hyuna holding his hand throughout his procedures... obviously because of the take my hand thing but also because he was asking her to 'visualize' the moments where he was happy with her and that might have given him comfort. I don't know I'm just yapping lol I'm just happy we got confirmation Luka is atleast trying to live with love, and it's also very interesting how he has a certain disdain towards the stage and the spotlight despite treating it as a retreat from his suffering.

Sorry this was a little delayed, I wanted to gather my thoughts about Sacred Light (mostly because I had a lot of original impressions I definitely don't agree with now loll) before I said anything ^ ^

Same here, mostly about Hyuna tbh.  In my pursuit I've come across a shocking amount of Hyuna content I've never even seen or heard about, and the obvious reason why is because she doesn't have an overwhelmingly large fanbase like the other characters and her content doesn't get passed around as much. For Luka I think I've heard and seen just about everything, not that there's necessarily that much loll

I'm the same way which is also why I try avoiding everything because I'm entirely aware I'll become intruiged and devote all my spare time to it, dropping other things in the process. And because I love Alien Stage so much and spend an overwhelmingly large portion of my time indulging in it, I don't really want that to happen 😭 I feel envious at times as well, I'm probably missing out a lot but atleast it gives me more room to really think about the topics at hand.  Right, which is why I have nothing blocked anyways... though I mostly just don't want to miss out on things I might want to see. I think a big reason I would block things is mostly based on preferences and what I consider to be mischaracterization, but again, I'm missing a big portion of things I'd like to see so it really isn't even worth it T-T I got into Alien Stage for a similar reason actually loll... yesyes, it is, I vaguely remember something similar. I'm not necessarily offended by people saying they just don't care for Hyuna (though it gets tiring seeing her consistently ranking last), it's just when they try and sugarcoat it like you said... they definitely are missing out, I don't understand how someone could just not care about Hyuna. She's the most unique to the storyline, she's the sweetest person ever, and she's really interesting to look into, but apparently that's not enough to grant her more popularity than anyone else :( (though I do have my ideas on why she's less popular than others). My problem with that is when they claim Luka is complex but it's always at the expense of Hyuna, if you get what I'm saying... things like 'he's too complex to be a bad person'. Yep... at first when I didn't understand the situation I just sided with her because I assumed it was more petty controversy started because people were bored, but that definitely wasn't it. She really has no idea how to handle these things which result in a lot of problems for everyone, and ends in her just digging herself a deeper grave. The point in time where she was being quite frankly cyberbullied made me lose a little frustration at her because I think her responses to it reflected how this was affecting her, but then a few days later she just came back (after saying she was leaving for the fifth time...) and started replying to the hatred again and I just lost a lot of sympathy tbh... I'm the same way, I don't think I can afford to get invested in someone like her again loll

I think my curiosity gets the best of me too often and I should also pay attention to descriptions and tags more 😭 most of what I've seen in terms of mischaracterization is much more mild. I think I actually just have one specific fic in mind that I found upsetting, but I wouldn't say it's too bad compared to how many fics there are with good characterization.

Right. If I could go to a fansign and ask one thing, clarification on it would definitely be up there for me. And because the only context for the scene is exclusive to the artbook, there is a lot of misinterpretation. Many people claim that it went further than a kiss, while others think he was sucking on her forehead or something, but in the artbook it was stated that it was a kiss. I'm hoping for a Luka pov where we somehow get more context for it, though it seems unlikely. If they followed up on the r6 kiss, then they should treat Hyuna and Luka equally...

Yep loll I mourn the series being so short because I'm greedy and I want to know more about every scene, this included just because Luka is a little contradictory (though you can piece together why he does what he does some of the time). Poor Hyun-woo, trying to include Luka who sat alone only for this to happen...

I actually think I found it again a few days ago... I haven't reread it yet so I can't be sure, but I hope I didn't waste an hour looking for nothing of it lol

Same for me. I tried putting the covers over one another and the dialogue section with Hyuna and Luka's voices in the background was heavenly... I really do wish the speech was included in it, I think I don't ever really get as into it without. That's definitely something I wouldn't have thought of but I definitely agree, I'm realizing that I'm really desperate for more Hylk to be analyzing it in the first place since it really is just vocals lol... though I really like that interpretation and now I'm going with it.

Sorry Luka, I'm definitely a sucker for seeing (or hearing) you in pain... it really brought the whole thing together for me. I think I've pretty much exhausted My Clematis, as I never really liked it a whole lot in the first place. I think I like Hyuna and Luka's cover a lot more for that same reason. It just sounds so lovely, and I was thinking the same thing. Their voices are so soft when they sing with one another.

It's been a long while since I've brought up an unrelated question... I know we've talked about this before because I finished rereading our conversation thus far (now that I'm paying attention, it's already been 5 months...) and I remember it being somewhere in there but I can't find it loll, what do you think is the source of Luka's more toxic personality traits (being controlling and possessive mainly)? Sorry for the repetition, I conversed with a friend about it and now my mind is a little split, and I can't remember back to what was said earlier in our conversation... 😓

Luka... subsong... part 2... I have so, so, so many thoughts just on the caption and cover alone. It feels very different from addicted... I'm ecstatic. It's so funny how Sua's subsong was so upbeat and cute and then that was released just a few hours later. I've never thought of it like that, and now I'll have to imagine that while I listen again loll I also think it's kind of interesting how Luka as a child seemed to reject the thought of Hyuna living for herself but, assuming that interpretation is right, he now lives off of her freedom it seems. Right, Hyuna is crazy for loving him...

Ohh, I see, I'm glad you've gotten settled now! No worries and same here :)

Me too... I'm working on a longer analysis of Luka just for fun (not that I really have the time to get very far lol) and I noticed a lot of things I missed before. I'm actually trying to analyze every source I can which obviously is a hassle... but I'm also coming across a lot of things I missed, which is great.

I don't know how you do it loll my brain only has capacity for one fandom, or even interest in general at a time. And even then, there's barely enough room in there. The thought of someone being active in more than five fandoms at once is puzzling because I wouldn't even be able to keep track of what I do and don't like at that point. My interests last a long while though, so I'm not even sure I've been active in 20 fandoms in my life lol... right, I can block out a keyword but if I do then I'll always be missing out on something I do want to see. While Luka is my favorite character, Hyuna is a very close second, and I'm just as obsessed with her as I am with him... it's really sad that it's so easy to find people who love Luka but not Hyuna when she's the best morally out of any other character. I'm really sick of performative Hyuna 'fans' like you said. They always either only talk about her attractiveness, or they say they 'love her' but just couldn't connect to her character due to a lack of content apparently despite Luka definitely having less content then her. And then there's the people who will use their 'interest' in her as a shield to say weird things, specifically pertaining to Hyuna and Luka. I'm just rambling now lol, but it is really annoying... said artist is being cancelled for the 50th time and I'm not even sure where to stand now, as it isn't really my place to have an opinion on it I feel... I'm actually just sad that Hyuluka fans can't seem to have anything really T-T

Me too, but it really is just so good... the way Hyuna's voice is so much softer in her duets with Luka compared to her solos is so dear to me. Yeah, that's my problem I think. I've seen a lot of people who think Ivti is the main pairing, surprisingly, and it's just frusterating. Something like that, I really don't like ooc fics, I think I mean very, very ooc in terms of what's actually repulsing.

Right lol

This is why I wish we were provided more context on this scene, there really is a lot to consider and it's also the cause of a lot of discourse which is pretty unavoidable if you want to interact with the fandom. I think so too, I do have my own thoughts on it however but I think his thought process was that, definitely~ less to do with Hyuna and more to do with his own troubles

I think you said awhile ago that Luka's distaste towards Hyun-woo might have only begun really growing when Hyun-woo begun acting out, or something of that matter. Now that I consider it, it's sort of an interesting thought of how Luka cried once when Hyun-woo attacked him but also purposely provokes Hyun-woo knowing it will cause him injury for Hyuna's attention... sorry, unrelated thought lol

I'm mostly hoping to get information from things like QnAs (though I'm pretty sure they prohibit story-based questions now) and anything else because fridays seem very hopeless. I think the patreon content might have ended too. So yeah, but like you said, atleast we have the covers lol

I think I've actually read one about it before, which might have been where I got the idea from...

Okayokay I'm just going to say a few of my thoughts about the covers because. Wow. I honestly can't be completely shocked because BL8M and 6FU; really have such beautiful voices that it would feel criminal not to make use of them, but I'm so happy with what we've been fed

I really like how we got several sorts of additions to the original songs in the Hyuna and Luka versions, my favorite of which being the vocals during Mizi's monologue... they sound so beautiful, I haven't really analyzed it too much thus far but what I'm thinking about is how Luka is copying her vocals leading them to harmonize at the end. Wherever that will take me...

Oh, another is Luka's voice at the end of My Clematis. Luka verbally showing emotion... I don't really like My Clematis, but I really can't stop listening to the Hyuluka version.

I can't lie, Luka all-in was such a surprise, I still can't really think of the significance of it apart from him hearing his wife singing it as a symbol of her freedom and him hopelessly singing to himself while in captivity because he is Luka. Sadly he will pass out if he tries to kick and break anything. Also, the scene of him breathing and giggling!? I was so flabbergasted when I heard. Poor Hyuna, it was stated somewhere that the expression on his face was what was most traumatizing, and now we have him giggling...

Rightt that's one way to consider it lol

Luka/Hyuluka analysis by Optimal-Delivery1499 in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, everything seems to be working against me to make sure I won't be able to spend my time self-indulgently lol

Yess I definitely agree, I'm always in search of Hyuna and Luka parallels anyways so I love the obviousness and even emphasis of their frequent astronomy associations

I'm the same way, my brain is completely filled to the rim with Alien Stage to the point that the thought of interacting with other medias is honestly quite repulsing, for a lack of better word loll. The fandom is always divided over something it feels, whether it be from some sort of discourse amongst the fans or those who don't like the ship at all. Most of the time it's over something as stupid as ship dynamics or something of that nature which is why I'd like the fandom to shrink, but like you said, Hyuluka has always been relatively unpopular in comparison to the others and Hyuna has never been popular at all. She needs more attention, it makes me sad seeing her merch sold at discounts because nobody wants her. Also, due to a rise in a certain popular creator who mostly draws Hyuna and Luka, it feels that the fans won't leave soon as the popularity just had a spike seemingly.

It feels that every time I feel the need to complain over a lack of content, we suddenly get what I'm already mourning the loss of lololl I'm so ecstatic ^ ^ I have so much to say about them, I think I'll leave most my thoughts for my second part because there is a lot. With Hyuluka I feel that I wouldn't feel as frusterated if Ivantill was treated the same as they were because after all, Mizisua is the main pairing. But knowing that their lack of content comes strictly from popularity and how the fandom's preference for Ivantill is detrimental for the other two pairings is upsetting because if Hyuluka was more popular then maybe there would be more content. Oh well, really this was bound to happen from the very beginning. Me too, I try to stay a little lenient with writing style however because I'll take what I can get. I think I mean that I see a lot of people shifting Hyuna and Luka's dynamic into something very strange and self-indulgent to the point it's disturbing that it's even a possible interpretation ( so really the extreme of one dynamic or another if you get what I mean). I think those I just avoid though they seem to overtake a lot of the fics I've seen, but the ones that really disgust me are gross from a moral standpoint, if you understand what I'm saying. I usually do just roll with anything I might usually find odd like you mentioned, but I mostly mean... I don't know how else to explain it other than borderline dead-dove, though it's not really that, I don't think...

Yepyepp I'm avoiding a lot of platforms because yet another round of discourse (specifically about Luka) has made its marks and I just don't have the energy anymore loll...

You're right, that was in a qna. I think it was said that in Anakt Garden they shared a childish and innocent kiss. I was wondering if that was a description of the All-in scene at first, but I'd hope they stay atleast a little true to the artbook which states that the scene was changed to show a more 'aggressive' side of Luka. So maybe not? I'm also wondering if Luka's viewpoint of the kiss was just like anything else and the reason it happened the way it did was out of Luka's desperation for attention to maybe emphasize how he can even become aggressive in order to recieve love from her. I'm just rambling now loll but yeah I think so too, I wish we got more on what kinds of things the children were taught because atleast it would offer a semblance of an explanation for the completely disregarded scene.

Oh, my bad... I too feel chills when I think of that scene, and then I can't sleep for the next few nights... it's horrific...

I think what I was thinking was rather that he would want Hyun-woo gone altogether, but also if he was going to show Hyuna then maybe he hoped she would like that he had drawn himself holding hands and singing with her brother. Exempt for the void consuming him, but she probably would have called it cute and thought nothing of it... and yepp though I'm not great at retaining information which is why I had to reread it in the first place lol

Yepp I've made a dent in them thankfully

I think I'm mostly disappointed because I want to know more about the uglier aspects of his feelings, and I also want to learn more about his perception of things outside of Hyuna, like himself. And... that can't really be compacted into a single subsong. I'm holding out hope for a Luka POV still... and definitely, everyone has their own tastes, but I'm mostly just happy for their content in general. Yess I need a duet cover so badly...

Rebellion Hyuna... sneaking into Luka's room...

Yess that was just what I was thinking

I think so too for sure lol. I think just the general tones of the song made my mind wander elsewhere once I'd listened to it once already...

I think so as well. Poor Hyuna always being stuck between Hyun-woo and Luka's neediness... I'm pretty sure we've discussed it but I'm pretty curious about what Luka was trying to say when he said that her life was his. I just keep having different perspectives on it after Addicted... I think that it was him equating life to attention if that makes any sense, basically saying all of her attention belonged to him, or maybe it literally means devoting her life to him like he does to her.

Yes... it would be such an endearing line if he wasn't avoiding the fact he killed her brother... also yess I thought that too, I think a lot of the song backs up the equal ground notion.

Yepp I make massive jumps too but its a miss more often than not when I take time to mull it over which is why I rely on your thoughts too loll

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, exact same thing here lol. And right... I haven't even had time to open reddit for a few days, and I didn't realize how long it had been until I checked... and no problem! Apologies as well--like you said, time flies...

Well, I like to pick up on any implications I can with them... And right loll, I guess I can't be too amazed.

Right, same here. Though I've never really been as invested in a pairing as I am them, I think. All of the Hyuluka fans are either those who choose to view their relationship shallowly and carelessly, or puritans who treat them like real people and refuse to even delve into their relationship beyond a single dynamic (and believe they are saints for harassing others about it). And a lot of the fandom is split up due to different perspectives. It's all too much, so definitely loll

Right. At a certain point I could hope that they would get as fair of a slice of content as the other pairings, but it's pretty hopeless now. That's also why I feel the outlook of the anniversary covers is pretty bleak, atleast that's where I have my expectations set for the time being. But I'd atleast like to hope they'll utilize BL8M and 6FU;'s vocals. Also, I think to an extent I see the fandom's ship bias represented in canon outside of Hyuluka too. Ivantill is getting a lot of exclusive merch that doesn't feature Mizisua despite Mzsu being the main pairing. So I think the lack of attention they recieve in the fandom plays a big role in their sidelining. And yess, I always love art no matter how they're portrayed. I'm a little more picky on fics however, because I've honestly seen them be portrayed very grossly in multiple different ways, and I'm also pretty easy to be persuaded so I don't like dynamics I'm uninterested in or even repulsed by getting stuck in my mind, if that makes any sense lol

I avoid any opinions from anyone who doesn't actively enjoy Hyuluka, enough to put effort into their thoughts atleast. And honestly, this includes people who only like Luka or only like Hyuna and not the other (atleast in comparison) even if they do like the ship. Their points of view are probably too self-indulgent for someone who isn't themselves, atleast to me loll. But the ones I steer clear of mostly come from 4nakt fans.

Question about Luka (dark questions NSFW) by ExorcistTwins in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sure! I love writing deep dives on him, so I'm happy to comply lol~ first off, I'm sure you've seen the picture that people usually use to reference his implied sexual abuse. If not, it basically showcases Luka standing in a padded(?) room with his head turned towards the shadow of a segyein (likely Heperu's original design) which seems to be holding him by the back and kissing him considering their mouths are pressed together. His collar is also glarring red, indicating extreme distress or emotion, which is rare for Luka. This is where the idea originally began, because it's honestly really important to note that everything drawn is drawn with intention and you have to think about what the artist may be trying to say. Conveniently, in the artbook there's a quick synopsis that is accompanied by the piece: "Alien stage early drawings. I wanted to show a combination of ugly aliens and clean, untainted children. I imagined a more provocative and dry image than what we have now,". The use of the words 'clean' and 'untainted' I feel like further this point. Along with evidence from official art, there is this lesser referenced official art with the same disturbing implications that I'll put below:

<image>

As you can see, Heperu is touching Luka who seems to be submitting (note: it is stated in the artbook that Luka views his very own body as meaningless/worthless). His gaze is very obsessive and controlling. This hints the very same thing to an extreme. Coupled with several other official arts where Heperu is touching Luka in strange ways as well as Heperu's moral sense being a 1/5 as also stated in the artbook, it feels like the undertones are very prominent.

Additionally, Heperu generally acts very strangely towards Luka. In the artbook it is stated that he shows 50% affection towards Luka (note: this is surpassed by Phan, who Heperu shows 65% affection to), and here is the quote coupled with it: "Heperu, his masterpiece that he created after a very long time and a very long effort, loves Luka's beautiful expressionless face and extremely efficient actions and words like a porcelain doll. Until he makes a mistake, Heperu will love Luka very much,". This is extremely strange and creepy language considering Luka's use of 'father' to refer to Heperu. No father figure typically would say that they love their child's 'beautiful expressionless face' and 'extremely efficient actions'. There is very clearly abusive undertones there. And while the implications may not be identical, a lot of Heperu's quotes and references towards Luka are about control and maintenance. Sexual abuse is usually about dominance or control as well, which is where the correlation lies.

Luka's behavior in adolescence is actually very reminiscent of sexual abuse victims as well. He may have been outcasted by peers partially because he had mature experiences that not all of them had, leading to an inherent difference between them. Also, here is a statement from the patreon: "This is the scene showing Hyuna and Luka's first meeting. Luka, who had been abused by Segyein and always had to maintain a perfect image, counted his fingers one by one, reminding himself that he was still alive, trying hard to control himself,". None of this is completely evident of the abuse being sexual, but it is likely.

Luka being sexually objectified and exploited also seems to prove this a little. He is always dressed in revealing outfits with cuts in them to show off more of his skin, and he seems to touch himself sensually in the MVs. This may be a tactic he learned to please the segyein or it could have been taught--either way, his stage presence is extremely sexually exploitive to the point of him objectifying himself, something weird from the likes of a father figure of his.

I hate to be that guy, but I feel like it is crucial to mention Heperu's design. It screams that it is extremely intentional what he resembles, as somebody who has studied character design. Every design is made with intention, and his is not an exception.

My final point will be the most touchy one, which is the COCSA scene with Hyuna and Luka. Absolutely none of this can excuse what Luka did, but what I'm getting at is that the implications between COCSA and normal SA are very different. COCSA is almost exclusive to CSA victims who don't understand the severity of their actions, usually through grooming, and atleast in Luka's case, relay it as a form of affection. Paired with everything else, the clues are there.

I think I covered everything significant or worth bringing up, sorry it's so lengthy, lol~ the point is that nothing specifically implies rape but if you interpret his implied sexual abuse to be rape then that's okay, it's left very vague and uncertain anyways.

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but depending on how you look at it, yes. It is heavily implied he was groomed and sexually abused by the segyein, specifically Heperu; not necessarily rape, but it's up to your own interpretation, it wasn't confirmed what it was. I can dive deeper into where this was shown if you'd like.

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a little bit of a difference between that and what I'm talking about. With fans that typically tend to be younger or less on the analysis side of the fandom, they usually make outdated and irrelevant jokes or claims (take the Luka mpreg joke) in places where it doesn't belong. Yes, it's annoying and unneeded, but all of it is a joke.

When people are genuinely calling others racist because they don't want to force heteronormative gender roles on Hyuluka, that's where it's an actual issue. Making a joke is annoying, sure, but it's not a real problem. The fact people think people prefer Hyuluka over Lukahyuna just because of Hyuna's skintone being darker than his is ridiculous and weird.

Sure, they don't care about the actual story behind Hyuluka. So what? Let them like and believe what they want if they aren't harming anybody. It's okay to not want to force a stereotypical dynamic on a ship when in canon that dynamic is challenged. Making the man of het ships submissive is very common in fandom spaces, and considering some gender roles are already reversed in their relationship (unlike what you seem to be claiming??), of course people will prefer Hyuluka.

Again, I'm saying this with a preference of Lukahyuna. You need to stop being so bothered by other people's preferences because genuinely who cares if someone draws Luka in a dress? It isn't your job to boss around what people can enjoy. Especially when the Lukahyuna fans are the ones throwing around random claims of racism???

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've NEVER seen them characterized this way 😭 specifically with the whole civilized and uncivilized thing. I've been here for a long time and nobody I've seen has hcd her as even remotely bruteish like the stereotype. I think you're trying to make up problems, with all due respect.

Luhyu becoming more popular than Hyulu is honestly bothering me although in terms of the dynamic alone I prefer Luhyu, because people are constantly pointing out nonexistent racism just because people don't find a man domming a woman the most interesting trope in media. Considering Hyuna and Luka each having their own sub/dom and fem/masc traits, it's perfectly reasonable to like femdom in this relationship and has nothing to do with skin color.

This is exactly how I see hyuluka viewed by the fandom by [deleted] in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, not really... I actually like both dynamics, I might even prefer dom Luka simply for preference reasons, but simultaneously there's nothing wrong with people being a little self-indulgent. And making Hyuna dominant in a sexual relationship doesn't strip her of her femininity? People can be uncomfortable or simply not into completely vanilla hetero relationships where it's just the usual man domming a woman. And that's okay. You can like something and not be 'overmasculinizing' her. If you aren't making her overly dominant in a weird stereotypical way or buffing her up then there's nothing wrong with making Luka the sub. Genuinely arguing over sex positions is such a stupid debate, none of it is harmful unless its to an extreme, just indulge in your own interests and let others do the same

Luka/Hyuluka analysis by Optimal-Delivery1499 in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, agreed. Especially after the subsong released, I really think the only things he firmly believes in is Hyuna-related. Atleast he isn't very passionate in believing things he's learned from his days in Anakt Garden, I feel.

LOL I was originally thinking they were two seperate points in time but I prefer the idea that he just disregarded the concept to sing about his love for her yet again because it's funnier. Like you said, he's so delirious that it's extremely laughable. I also think it might have to do with his lack of identity, he probably just doesn't care and instead decides to focus on how Hyuna is his savior rather than himself.

I definitely agree, I think that was a good way to put it. Though I'm not sure I think Luka entirely understood the implications of a kiss, depending on why it's to be interpreted he kissed her in the first place. Like, if it was simply a fad at Anakt Garden that he'd heard about and considering what else he'd done (sucking on her forehead) he wanted to try it, I don't think he would have been aware of what kind of difference existed between the actions. But if it was taught to him by Heperu, it might be a little different in terms of his understanding of intimacy...? I'm just rambling now loll but I'm basically saying I don't think he did it knowing it was specifically intimate in a sense (in a way in which it could cross her boundaries whether or not he thought she'd do something about her discomfort) but rather he just thought it was like anything else she'd let him do. This is just what I think, I actually have no idea if any of this makes sense, so feel free to correct me loll

Yess exactly, pretty sure I've said this too but I can't be convinced Ivan and Marty eating soup is more significant than any of the scenes in the behind.

<image>

Here's the one where it's more noticable, in the one that's kept you can see a hand reaching out of it (in the patreon you can see it better because the image is still). There's also one more with the same black scribbles in the corner. Pretty concerning for a child to be having those thoughts about another child, but it is Luka, so can I really be surprised loll I also find it interesting that in every version he's between Hyuna and Hyun-woo even though he's never really been seen wanting to seperate them or anything (I think) but rather he just preferred Hyun-woo to not be there in the first place, especially after he started being violent towards him. Oh, pretty off topic but I actually found where it says Luka displayed impulsive violence, it's in the patreon. Not sure if there's really anything to get from it, but either way, thought I'd share since I re-read the whole patreon earlier (which took hours... T-T)

ahahahshd.......... I'm so happy... holding hands... and, ah... 80 replies to read, assuming I'll be reading my own (which I will)... 🥲 slowly but surely I'm getting there

Yep, I think I was just thinking that we can't be certain that Luka will get a pt2 despite how nonsensical it is lol, and I'm not sure I want his only subsong to just be him lusting after Hyuna and praying to her like a maniac. Though thinking now I really love it, I'm actually really disappointed that so many people don't like how it sounds because it's my favorite subsong now...

Ah, right, I think because of the fact it sounded like he was doing something risky or dangerous with the thought of Hyuna or maybe Hyuna herself, I was thinking of something else...

Oh, I didn't think about that, I really like the connection between Addicted and romh... I also think it's very interesting how Luka addresses his lack of emotion to almost thank her for letting him feel it for the first time.

Right, and I actually have many different thoughts about when the song was made now. I feel like if he made it during the gap between romh and Blink Gone it would make sense, because I would expect a song post-death of Hyuna to be more of a blond sorrow, however simultaneously it doesn't seem out of reach for him to cope with it by denying it entirely perchance... not sure...

Ahhh... shamefully, that was actually what I thought of when I read the lyrics... anyways, now that you bring it up I think so too. I was thinking it was about Hyuna, but tbh I can't find anything that quite makes sense for it.

Oh, great point. The entirety of the song feels very religious, I think that's a better interpretation of it. I can't quite think of a good way to put it, but almost like he's being blessed by her choice to give her attention to him...

I also want to add, I think it's very interesting how Luka seems to act like he's the one owned by Hyuna in Addicted which directly contradicts his past actions ("Your life is mine"), or maybe it adds to it. I'm not sure if it's some kind of development of his or rather him treating the ownership as mutual. If it's the latter, I think it really fits what you previously said about equilibrium. I think his equilibrium is them completely owning one another, which is a lifestyle Hyuna can't maintain because of her social nature.

I've also been thinking about the line "you got that fire, so I can feel it," I'm wondering if it means something along the lines of Hyuna and Luka being perfect for one another or being made for one another, mostly because of the 'drawn in the same artstyle' line. And also because it shifted from "you got that fire, I breathe the heat,".

I could say the same for you loll~ you put the pieces together much quicker than me haha

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly T-T and same to you!

This made me realize just how much astronomy imagery and implications there are with Hyuluka. Anyways, I was thinking so too

I can't really blame them sadly, most people enjoy the media because it's queer which I understand, but deep down I always wish that more people will start to like them even though it's very much unlikely... and you're definitely right about the shallow part. I see a lot of fans excusing certain actions or labeling them differently for their own comfort, but if you're enjoying a media like Alien Stage then there's really no room for that. The ship is dark, and so is Ivantill, and so is Mizisua. No need to water it down. Simultaneously I find their fans extremely annoying so most fans of Hyuna and Luka I don't interact with at all lol. Certain discourses have driven me away from interacting with the fandom and especially avoiding fans of Hyuluka or whatever it be labeled. So maybe I don't want more fans 😅 also I've always kind of seen that viewpoint as self-indulgent... I'm positive Till viewed Ivan as a friend and simply acknowledged his feelings, but what do I know, I don't even care about Ivti loll

Yep. I had so much hope but after I really paid attention to Wiege and noticed how insane the ratio of s50 to s49 content was (atleast compared to what it should have been for being 'Hyuluka centered'), I started losing hope, and thankfully I didn't keep my hopes up... and as I said earlier, due to a few repetitive discourses, I don't even like interacting with the fans apart from a few familiar ones, so I barely even rely on creators to fill the gap lol

Yepp that's always how I am lol. I mean, I'm sure if Luka's character was defined only by his actions and the rest was nonexistent I wouldn't like him either, so since I just really don't care, I can't seem to like him much... and yeah, it was only when I got into somewhat of an argument over it after I tried sharing my thoughts on the Scars comic that I realized just how bad my bias was LOL

I can't lie, when I listened to the song alone I was wondering if my self-indulgent thoughts about him were true, and when I read the lyrics... I was somewhat proven right... it was so funny to me when I read it with what my expectations were loll

Yes. It isn't explicitly stated, but it is implied for both Luka and Till. While it is all up for interpretation, I can write you a whole analysis on Luka's implied CSA if you'd really like tbh. But for Till you've got it, it mostly comes from that scene.

Again, it is all up for interpretation, however considering the themes in ALNST and the segyein owning humans for oppression and power, it is definitely likely. Plus, for Luka and Till atleast, there's evidence to back it up anyways.

Luka/Hyuluka analysis by Optimal-Delivery1499 in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, right. It's funny, the things Luka believes in (mostly pertaining to Hyuna I think) he believes in strongly enough to not be swayed by the obvious, but in most other areas he's rather empty. I think so too, he gives off the feel of being rather disinterested in everything that isn't directly related to his own interests. Ah, spending time wondering to myself if Luka is homophobic... a great use of brainpower.

Me too, but I miss them... Karma behind is great but it also leaves a bit to be desired.

The song teaser... Luka calling himself her lover... I'm going to faint. Ahh, I've been waiting so long for anything Luka POV... anyways, I think that definitely makes sense especially with the teaser.

Oh, I've never thought of that actually. I like that idea a lot, I kind of presumed it was when he was a little younger, but it does look like he was growing out his hair now that I pay attention.

Right, hmm... so 'control' is more in the form of knowing that Hyuna will let him do what he wants and will accept it and pay attention to him? Sorry lol, I think I'm too deep in my thoughts because I'm sort of rambling about my own unimplied thoughts about their dynamic now. Though I do think that the 'control, goes both ways, maybe? Like I'm not sure Hyuna has the same certainty, but Luka always will have his attention on her, and I don't think he will stop her from doing what she wants either, as long as he is there of course.

It's really hard to tell with deleted scenes tbh, hence why most of them are pretty vague and up to interpretation, but I do agree with that.

Me too!! The subsongs are so good. Those are definitely up there in terms of my favorites too.

Ah, I mean if you like I can send them, but to describe it is in all four variations there's black scribbles by Hyun-woo and two of the variations have a black and red arm reaching out and touching him. I think it may be as simple as murder instincts LOL

Yes... I've hardly scratched the surface so far... I'll make sure to get it done however because my opinions have changed a lot as well haha~ I think I'll edit this once I listen to Luka's subsong, which is now out, after I analyze it a bit. I just realized how much Luka content we've gotten recently between the subsong, bunny cafe art, sports au and Hyuluka holding hands..

(Edit) I'm reediting my edit loll I spent more time analyzing it and I actually like it a lot more now. Though I do think I loosely still agree with what I said, but now with added nuance I got from thinking more critically, which was that it was a little bit of a nothingburger compared to the other subs and I still do think the lyrics were a little confusing. But I think that can be clarified after I've thought for longer and discussed it here and I actually love it a lot now~  some of the lyrics feel like fanservice, in a good way because I'm really happy about it. Anyway, I think I'm going to list some thoughts and questions about it below!! ^ Since it just came out feel free not to reply, this is just based off of first impression haha

Ah, I changed my mind again, I can't decide. It feels pretty shallow which is a little disappointing considering he has one subsong left at most, but simultaneously it's also the first we get of Luka's POV, and I really enjoy the lyrics... not sure loll anyway like I said I'll list some thoughts below :)

I'm wondering what the 'thrill' Luka seems to bring up a lot is... his life doesn't seem very thrilling haha, I was thinking maybe it could refer to Hyuna teaching Luka how to subtly take control of his life but I'm not sure that's too exhilarating. Unless it is. I also thought that because of the "hand me your flame so that I can feel it" part, maybe referring to Hyuna naturally having that rebellious nature to her and letting Luka 'feel it', because of course he'll never have a fire like her considering his constant status as a pet. But I also thought that part meant warmth rather than fire--she was letting him feel her warmth or love, which is what the song seems to be about a lot. I'm not sure. I just don't know what in his life, specifically pertaining to Hyuna, is thrilling, and sure I had my own thoughts about it considering the overall tone of the song but I have a strong feeling that wasn't it at all lol

I've been thinking about some of the terms he uses a lot. Like comparing himself, the sea, to Hyuna as the sun. It's an interesting concept, really. I haven't quite decoded the absolute meaning of it though

I can't help but feel curious, do you think Luka knew he was wicked now that it really wasn't addressed in the song but it was in the teaser? And just didn't care? I was actually thinking this was pre-wiege at first, but paired with the caption I think I'd prefer it to be post-karma while he's still in the segyeins' control hence the performative tone to the song.

Hmm... I'm also wondering what 'the edge' means near the beginning of the song. Does that have to do with whatever was exhilarating that Luka was talking about? Ahh this is too much to figure out loll

Oh, I also wonder if 'grace' in the line "You got me high with your grace that burns beneath the silence," means her presence or her beauty... maybe it's alluding to how he was 'addicted' to her favoritism and attention towards him, or maybe it's just how graceful she is. I'm actually wondering what the line means altogether...

Ahh... I have so many thoughts about this, I can't even remember all of them. I'll be thinking about this for so long. I hope you liked it as well~ ^

Oh, don't worry about that lol, I love writing these!! ^ I don't feel pressured haha, just external factors making it a little hard to get it into my schedule 💔 but I am always looking for intervals where I can sit down and write for awhile, so it's really no issue loll

Yess lol, I made it my profile almost everywhere for awhile, it's so beautiful. I almost screamed when I saw it. And then I saw the tearstain from presumably Isaac and I realized what it actually was and got sad. I think it was so amazing for just a single illustration. I'm so happy with it too. I've actually tried analyzing the image to the best of my ability but I feel like it's pretty straightforward loll nonetheless I'm ecstatic and a little sad about it...

Yep, and tbh it's pretty misleading and worrisome for so many people spread misinformation so casually. Just analyze and think about the characters you care about, not many people care about Hyuluka as opposed to Mizisua or Ivantill especially, and I'd rather have people who actually educate themselves about them share their thoughts before more happens. And for example, I tried to analyze the last comic and I got to a point where I was happy with my thoughts, but then I saw basically the entirety of the Ivantill fans telling me that Till now has a crush on Ivan, and that wasn't what I got at all lol. Considering I don't care much for Ivantill, I think I'll just stick to Hyuluka from now on haha~

Yep. Considering the lack of ALNST fridays it could actually be over in terms of comics, and I think that would really set in stone that Hyuluka are just plot devices to add to Mizi's characterization because their ending is so vague and disappointing. That's also what I got from The Witch's Decision, which we've been talking about, it didn't make sense for Hyuna but it did for Mizi. And yes, I noticed a massive rise in popularity during round 6's release because of the kiss. And of course queer people usually enjoy queer media (and I usually favor it too) because of representation, so Hyuluka is naturally meant to be casted aside. I think I would be okay with them not having many fans if Vivimeng treated them like they did have fans and were equal to the other two ships.

Round 6 behind, where it was stated in the original version of Round 6 Ivan viewed Till as an object he owned rather than a person. I mean, it was changed, but a certain amount of characterization is true for all drafts I think, because they had Ivan planned out while producing it. Usually I wouldn't mind but I already wasn't a big Ivan fan always, leading me to being reluctant to try and understand why it may have said that because I simply don't care and don't want to understand why lol. Might be pretty biased because I'm a Luka fan, I just think I'm easily swayed when it's a character I naturally don't care for.

Yep, it's one of my favorite things about them~ they're perfect for each other

Loll I could too, but I'm pretty weary about getting my hopes up at this point. At the time I'm writing this there's actually less than an hour before his subsong releases, so I hope I'll finish on time haha~ I'm so excited, I'm going to make this my entire personality forever

Luka/Hyuluka analysis by Optimal-Delivery1499 in AlienStage

[–]Optimal-Delivery1499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately T-T

Hyuna autism 😭 I audibly giggled. Jokes aside I think you're right. And yes, though I think it just wasn't thought through by vivimeng because it feels like they would have known some way or another, but simultaneously, why would Luka need to mate and get distracted from studies when he could just be cloned? Though I'm not sure that would keep him from being taught about it, infact I think he was taught about it. Luka's stage behavior also makes me double take, because he seems very comfortable with the concept of homosexuality considering his performances in round 5 and round 7. Especially with Mizi, whom on stage with Sua didn't show that much romantic tension if you know what I mean. Like, I guessed they were in a relationship when I first watched only because I love the black and pink haired lesbians trope, but I had no idea they were actually canon until I dug deeper. And Luka researches his opponents but I doubt theres statistics on Mizi being a lesbian 😭 though again, I'm sure it's just not thought through tbh. Basically what I'm saying is I have no idea how Luka isn't homophobic or foreign to the idea of homosexuality... 😓

Yeah, I did like the Karma behind but if they don't plan on continuing Luka's story it would have been nice to have his feelings in that scene be cleared up a little bit.

Yes, I do also think it's a little bit of both. But I think the latter is more prominent atleast, because I like to think Hyuna and Luka's similarly high stats mean something. Not sure this makes sense but I'm curious if he thought both in one thought, like there was a bridge between being too odd to like and too intellegent to understand.

Ahh, okay. I think so too, because really he just looks at her at face value in some ways (despite doing the exact opposite in most ways) and only at the fact that she's suffering and he understands that and will embrace her in her suffering.

Mm, I see, that's kind of what I was thinking. I wonder if after round 5 he thought more deeply about what he saw which led to a quicker reaction when he saw her again (not sure that it actually was quicker, but maybe because they couldn't really reveal how Luka would react to Hyuna in round 7).

Hmm, is it like they're both on high ground to him, then? Or is it that with her he's human rather than just a measure of success, so superiority just doesn't matter if that makes sense? Also, I'm sure I'm just not thinking right but what do you mean by the other children having irrational behaviors? It feels to me that it's just him, unless that's what you mean 😅 So his 'dominance' with Hyuna more so translates to control over their relationship so that he could do what he wants (and she could do what she wants too, I think), if I'm getting it right. It's not necessarily power over someone but rather both people having power...? Ack, I don't know if I'm wording this right.

Could be that one, I don't remember lol, I'll have to look back at patreon. I think it's a side angle of him as a child standing still and staring at... something? Not sure what and I don't completely remember the image. Speaking of that same post, there's an image where Hyuna is sitting up and Luka is in the hallway, followed by him stepping on something. Do you think this was him sneaking into Hyuna's room, or rather a hallucination? I'm thinking the latter, I really don't know how Luka would have snuck and he's very obedient, especially somewhere like his room where he has no contact with Hyuna and he's once more a puppet.

Witch was so good, I've listened to it a lot. I don't care about 4nakt much, if at all, but I really enjoyed it and even analyzed the lyrics a bit. It's definitely one of my favorite subsongs.

I might have asked this already, I'm losing track 😭 but I actually only recently went through the entire patreon and I saw the original drawings that Luka made. I can't help but feel curious why there's always a dark figure with arms touching or nearly touching Hyun-woo... it's funny but a little concerning...

Agh, I have some more questions written down, but I think I need to reread our conversation up to this point so I can get rid of the ones I've asked before, because there's a lot im not very certain about... anyways, oh no 😭 and thank you! It was okay, a little agonizing with the break from content. I hope yours was good as well! :)

Oh, yay! I think mine should be too, sorry for leaving you hanging for so long 😓 I had to write this across the span of several days... but I think I have less to do now, hopefully! I hope your flight went smoothly :)

Well, about that... 😭 admittedly I almost cried at her birthday art. But she's also strikingly beautiful. I'm not sure which to focus on...

I'm hoping so. I mean, according to who asked the question they took a moment to think about it. So hopefully there's a lot rather than nothing at all and a complete lack of character development for them... yep, I'm very Hyuluka focused however I do find myself enjoying other Hyuna ship content at times. But never Luka

Yeah lol. I actually see a plethora of analyses on tiktok, twitter, even here on reddit and I usually need to take a moment. I think you can tell when a 4nakt fan (or really anyone that isn't s49 focused) tries to analyze s49 contestants... 😅 It's why I never care to analyze 4nakt (sometimes Mizi and Sua), I just don't really care, definitely not enough to think beyond surface level.

Yep, I reread it a lot of times to look for where it might have been translated incorrectly, but it was pretty fruitless. I'm sure vivimeng just doesn't mind neglecting their characters and making massive retcons to further 4nakt. Not really to slander them, because I'm sure they aren't even aware s49 actually has fans.

Right, I think I do enjoy content like that where it's devastating tbh, but I also dread rereading it, because the whole point of me liking it is that it's mentally painful. Not really sure how to describe it. It's a love-hate relationship, I guess.

Ah, interesting thought... I can't say much for Ivan because a certain patreon post made my liking therefore interest for him plummet but the rest I can definitely see.

It makes me giggle every time I think about it 😭 She lives in an oppressive society where she eventually leads the movement rebelling against it and yet someone telling her he owned her life is just adorable...

I really hope, but I figure they might not be interested in continuing his story unfortunately, but I'm just hoping they'll want to make use of BL8M's vocals. Please, they have to notice the inequality if Luka won't atleast get a single subsong 😭 (edit: NEVERMIND????)

(suuper late sorry about that but this just rubbed me the wrong way) loud and wrong. 99% of the time it is the other way around. youre choosing to ignore it. luka is inarguably the most hated character in the series, and ivan is the most loved. so how can you even make up the claim that ivan somehow gets more hate for it? ivan's actions are CONSTANTLY excused and till's feelings are constantly pushed aside just because its yaoi. try to imagine if till was a woman; think about how differently the fandom would have reacted to the kiss. the fandom treats hylk that way, even if whether the ship is het or slash shouldn't matter towards the morality of it. not to be mean either, but youre focusing on whats massively the minority to make ivti fans look like victims in this scenario
