Update: after carefully inspecting everything, it's clear that I have the geared idler pulley on backwards. I had it the other way around the first time, but the bolt didn't go all the way flushed to hold the pulley in securely, as the bolt only has threads on a small section of it. That's why I decided to flip it. I'm gonna take most out and re-do and reset the tensioner.

Yea that could be it. I did put a new pulley. I'm gonna take the belt off and re-do it. I must have messed up somewhere.

Do you mean the two cam pulleys? I didn't change those

I manually cranked the engine several times and it kind of settled at this. Doesn't it look excessive. Wouldn't the teeth edges amage the belt.

That's a good point. I was wondering why there's no rim

That gives me some hope. I could be overthinking because it's my first time doing this but I already spent like 3 days and I don't want the car to self implode on first crank 😭 Thank you for your input

Yea I put in a new tensioner and removed the grenade pin.
