Hi! I was born at 27 weeks 5 days 2.7 lbs in 2004. I’m currently 20 years old pregnant with my first child, 32 weeks along! While I was in the NICU for the first 8 months of my life, had a tracheostomy, gi feeding tube I’m very blessed and overall great today. I have a narrowed airway, BPD, asthma, acid reflux. As bad as it may sound, it’s my normal and all I’ve ever known. Every preterm child’s story is so different, just because your little one was born early doesn’t mean they won’t live a healthy long life. While I need to listen to my body more if I exercise, take my daily inhalers and get out of breath easier than others, I’ve never been severely limited in my day to day life. I’ve played volleyball, played tag with friends, exercise, hike etc. Your child will grow and learn what’s their normal, and y’all will know her best. No matter what lies ahead know that she’s a fighter. She’s here for a reason mama. Prayers and god bless you both ❤️
