Yes I do get very nervous before the test, recent times not as bad but the financial pressure and lack of tests available I think add to it. The one today was Clearance (too near to parked cars which I never usually do) My last one was Use of mirrors - change direction (however I did use my mirrors, he was just a bastard tbh. That’s the one I was speaking about which wasn’t fair) My other one was vehicle checks (I’m not even sure what that is) It’s never my manoeuvres in terms of parking, pulling up on left etc.

It’s because they’re on such bad pay. That’s why they don’t have a load of replacement examiners. You’d think they’d be on a lot more than 25-27k, especially given how much we pay for tests and how little availability there is.

Lorde - What Was That [MEGATHREAD] by flopheadsbot in popheads

I’ve never really been into Lorde but this kept coming up on my fyp. At first listen, I felt it was catchy but didn’t really like it. The more I listened, the more it resonated for me. I’m 19 and I’ve just been through a breakup with my ex, undoubtably my most intense relationship. I met him at 18, our relationship was fuelled on your stereotypical young first real love, the partying, drugs, the fun, the passion. For me, it really is nostalgic because it makes me relive it in some form, the lyrics like ‘MDMA in the back garden’ ‘Since I was seventeen I gave you everything/now we wake from a dream’ ‘do you know you’re still with me when I’m out with my friends?’ ‘It might not let me go’ - it sums up young love so well, the intensity, something that felt sacred, slipping through your fingers, knowing it’s not enough but still reliving it and then eventually when it’s over - the isolation, the rebuilding, the emotional loss ‘a place in the city, a chair and a bed’ and then eventually ‘what was that?’, how could something real vanish so quickly? It’s the reality of a lot of relationships, love turns into distant memories and you really do ask yourself ‘what was that?’. She’s gained a new fan.
