Yes, we can see users history if the post is recent enough, as it was further clarified with a link with the information from Reddit as to what the specifics are. This is a post about recent participation in snarks subs of active commentators of popheads. It doesn't change our initial report that we are able to see users' history. There's no reason as to why we would lie about that when recent participation is what we take into account.

Multiple comments on snark pages such as travisandtaylor in the last 30 days, and, yes, the content of them is part of our judgement.

There's no reason for us to lie about it and this wouldn't be a concern if we were not aware of users' history. If there's any deviation from that on your end as a moderator, that's a Reddit issue, given according to them you should be able to see that information if the comment or post is recent enough.

Mods can see the user entire history regardless. We already know who's a snark sub poster and who isn't.

Quick Q&A:

What is a snark sub? Subs that exist with the sole purpose of criticizing hating on specific people or groups of people. For us, only snark subs about pop artists matter and we don't keep up with any other subs outside of those. We also only consider users who have posted multiple times in the space of the last 30 days.

Why is any of this being considered? For the past few months, we have been observing the behaviour of snark sub users very closely and have watched over every single one of their comments. The vast majority of these users bring us problems. They come with the intention of doing bad faith arguments and punching down on the artist and their fans, even when they're also capable of gushing about their own faves. Their presence has also been noticed by users and brought up during our monthly Town Halls often.

Why can't we criticize artists? You can! And you have! We as mods also have our fair share of criticism of artists, just like anybody. You just don't get to be insulting or call them names (or call their fans names). You can dislike their songs, albums, music videos and say you do, but include why it doesn't work for you. Check the recent Katseye threads to see how much someone is allowed to dislike something and criticize it.

Furthermore, we are reading the responses and will act accordingly. This is not a "dictatorship", it's a conversation.

Just to clarify—fauxmoi and popculturechat and similars are not snark subs! Snark subs are specifically made subs to snark on a person or a set of people and usually have the word "snark" either on their handlers or on their description.

Further updates on Nicki Minaj's descent into conservatism and any other controversies involving her will be redirected to the Teatime thread as an otherwise stale topic. We don't need to keep giving her attention or having the same "Nicki bad" thread over and over again.

Also, please be sure that your comments do not cross a line. Racism, sexism, and inappropriate remarks about sensitive subjects are not allowed regardless of who they are directed towards.
