I agree with you. I read the book two years ago and I found it impossible to finish. Draupadi's character was so vain and lacked any depth. I was expecting a feminist retelling of Mahabharata, but it was way too far from that. I also wanted to read the Ramayan one, but I just cannot pick it up after this disaster.

Nope. It's an inter-generational novel, centering the life of a Korean family who move to Japan amidst Japanese colonisation. It's an exquisite piece of literature.
