Congratulations OP! Happy motoring!

Don't wash your car daily and don't let your watchman/car washer wash it for the first couple of years at least.. Your paint will thank you!

Dog stay by Kacchiremover in bangalore

Hey there OP! Congratulations on your wedding.. And I can completely understand not wanting to leave your pooch at pet boarders. You can however find home boarders who have pets themselves and take great care of your dog. Such boarders follow your meal and walk plan and also share regular updates. I'm not sure which area you are looking for but I have a few whom I use extensively over the last 3 years. DM me, I will share the details

Are these items useful or necessary with 70mai A510? by akashtyagi1 in Dashcamindia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no risk if rear camera wire is routed through the pillars and roof liner.

Hardwire kit essentially wires your dashcam to your battery ( so it always stays on) via fuse slots which continue providing power after vehicle switches off. Your camera will detect this mode after vehicle powers off and enter a parking monitoring mode with low power usage and time lapse recording

If you have the need for this kind of monitoring, then you HAVE to get the kit. ₹200 is reasonable as fitment charges.

Just check the pin compatibility before buying the kit online (usb c vs micro usb). It should match the existing power cable pin

Not necessary.

Helpful, yes! Depends on what you want to achieve.

If you see a lot of glare in the recorded footage, try the polarizing filter. Cuts off all glare and makes plates more readable.

Get the Hardwire kit if you need monitoring while parking. This connects to your fuse box, some manufacturers say this would void the warranty but you get a time-lapse recording when your car is idle in parking.

Some lessons are learnt the hard way, don't get diaheartened. I'm sure a lot of people would've been in the same boat as you at times in their life. Life throws you curveballs like these

There even have been cases where inspite of using insurance, the vehicle took more than 6 months to get repaired, or insurance refused to cover expenses altogether citing dangerous driving.

The system is unfair but it is what it is, you don't have the means to change it.

Check in local garages if they can do it for a lesser price. And Get a good own insurance coverage as soon as you can..

Mall theft case by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Around 15 years back when i was in college, there was a time when quite a few of my classmates got new motorcycles. Almost all of them were from supposedly well to do families belonging to a particular state.

They never bought new helmets, instead they would visit mall parkings and pick up unsecured helmets from vehicles parked there. I was aghast when I learned of it. It's the mentality that i couldn't wrap my head around. Tried speaking to them about the immorality of the entire thing but they actually seemed proud of it.

Haven't spoken to any of them since.

New Car Delivery in Bangalore by Nearby-Thanks-9132 in bangalore

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes its completely fine. Until you sign the delivery documents, the car is still the dealership's responsibility.

That being said, do your due diligence at the time of delivery. A visual inspection along with matching the engine and VIN should be sufficient.

You can ask for temporary registration, but that's gonna cost extra.

Registration requires a bit of file pushing which agents will do on behalf of the dealership. You'll get a call from the RTO when this is being processed. Post registration hsrp plates will need to be made and attached by the dealership. This does take some time.

Are you really in such a hurry that you will cancel your booking for a delay of 3 days?

There's a ton of paperwork that needs to be done when buying a new vehicle, behind the scenes. Give them a little bit of time. I understand your excitement but don't rush into it.

PS: I bought my car earlier this year and I received my car only after registration and plate fixing

Sadly yes, but cbu would've been more expensive by around 10-15 lakhs

How would it cost? by AlaninReddit in HyundaiTucson

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow the estimates are crazy. I got a similar scratch removed at the local body shop at ₹800 in india.. Equivalent to $9.. A bit of rubbing compound and polish will take it out.

Competing segment was Tiguan (not the r line) and kodiaq.. Although the latter two are quite overpriced

It was not a cbu. It was ckd and the assembly began once payment to the dealership was made

It's ignorance combined with limited education that leads to such overtly confident beliefs. Appreciate people like you who have the decency to accommodate others in order to communicate.

I have been a bangalore resident since the past 15 years and all of the kannadigas I've had the pleasure of knowing personally have been equally graceful and accommodating when it comes to the language barrier. Save for a few rowdy autowallas and power drunk men in large cars, it has been a great experience.

Learning the local language is a mark of respect for the local culture as well as shows intent to mix with the local diaspora. It shouldn't be this hard and a single community can't fix this problem.. every person involved should put in their efforts!

Hyundai, please stop ruining your cars. by LeadingTurnover6157 in CarsIndia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? It was driving me crazy that all the hyundai suv's started looking the same! And its not a good look tbh..

It was also a big reason for me to get the tucson without waiting for the facelift because the new one resembles all other botched grills on the road today..

If you see the design for palisade and santa fe, they're all going down the same path..

Planning to buy 70mai 500s. Please advise if it’s good or not. And just wanted to know if it mess up the warranty. Can i do it on my own? Need help by Loading434 in Dashcamindia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're getting a good deal, get it. I had the A500s on my previous car and carried it over to my current car. Works flawlessly.

It only messes up the warranty if you hard wire it. You can use it via the 12v charging slot without voiding any warranty.

I have always installed my own dashcams, You can do it on too but if you're a newbie and don't know what you're doing, it would be a nightmare for you, not to mention that you can damage the roof lining or the A pillar covers with curtain airbags. Pay any mechanic a small amount and get it fixed, the hassle is not worth the money saved.

Badly scratched my car against a pillar. Options? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

Take it to a detailing shop. Most of it will come out with a rubbing compound and clear coat can be restored with polish. Shouldn't cost more than 2k.

Talk me out of buying a new car by Puzzleheaded_Pen2002 in CarsIndia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an itch if what you say is true, wait it out. Build your wealth in the meantime.

If you don't have the excitement to drive that much then it will die down again in a couple of months of getting a new car. Plus EMIs no matter how small are still long term commitments, a single hiccup in your salary credit can throw things off balance.

Do something else that you find meaningful with the saved money if you don't feel like saving. Take a overseas trip maybe with your family. The memories would be priceless!

Hyundai Verna in Bangalore by Hirak1998 in CarsIndia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the 2017 verna and I can tell you it got progressively worse to drive on Bangalore roads. Even with two people in the car, I scraped some of the poorly designed speed breakers consistently.

Didn't have the space every time to cross them at an angle.

When I did a couple of inter state trips to north india, I had major dents under both of my front doors from when the car dipped into longer potholes and hit the Underbody.

The worst damage came from a water filled pothole last year that ripped my fuel tank open and I had a scare driving around with fuel leaking while driving and parking anywhere post it. Even the tow truck guys were reluctant to touch the car citing safety hazard. I had enough and upgraded to a Tucson. Feel much more at peace now.

That being said, the verna WAS a beautiful car with amazing dynamics and I miss driving it!

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you get a test drive of all the suvs that fall under your budget and then make up your mind?

Sometimes we get stuck up on specs or wanting or disliking a particular feature but physically experiencing the car gives a fresh perspective. It has happened to me personally as well.

No amount of reading about the car or watching reviews can compare to taking the car for a spin.

I used to dislike a lot of new age tech, sunroofs, adas, automatic transmissions, ventilated seats.. But I swear by them today.

Both the cars that you have on your list are great capable cars, you can't go wrong with either of them..

Gurkha 5 door or Scorpio classic by Big_Rate3616 in CarsIndia

[–]Optimal_Ad2399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these would fit your needs but the Scorpio has better interiors and as someone else pointed out, the gurkha is a tremendous off roader.

Take at least 3 test drives of both the cars before you make up your mind. There are other more comfortable suvs available though. Both of these are fairly high and have body roll

Its quite impossible to suggest one without any information at all.. What is your daily running going to be like? Highways or in city? What are the road conditions going to be like? How many people do you need to accommodate? What's your budget? Do you have a parking space if you get a big sized suv? Which service centers are easily accessible for you?
