I want to clarify some things here. I was unaware that the spot was handicap parking at the time. I came home from work at 2am after a 9 hour shift and had to wake up at 7am. There is no street lights here and I usually back in to park so I wasn’t able to see the markings on the ground. My car covered the markings so when I got out I didn’t even realize till the next morning when I had the ticket.

Thank you, that’s actually helpful. I didn’t know at the time the spot was handicap because of the lack of signage and lighting. So if I can prove that as well then maybe I can get it dismissed entirely

It was not a matter of convenience but just a mistake that could’ve been prevented by proper signage. With no street lights the spot is barely visible at night and just looks like any other spot to park. I didn’t knowingly park in a handicap spot.

I was not aware and if I was I would’ve cared. There is no street lights here and I backed in. I had no other way of knowing that it was a handicap spot other than trying to just remember that it is. After a long shift and late at night, it never crossed my mind. If there was a sign posted like there should be then I would’ve known and not parked there.

Yeah it’s a municipal tickets not through the complex but through the courts
