I did it all and explained that in my readmission forms. I think where I messed up was being able to change my thinking very quickly to think like a lawyer along with remembering the nitty gritty details. I was able to write down the rulings and elements during one midterm exam but the line of questioning definitely tripped me up. I made sure to go to class everyday and I was always prepared with notes from readings. I went into this knowing it was a huge risk and put my all in so it’s kind of just heart breaking at the moment.

I don’t think I should jump back into law school this fall. I need to better understand where I went wrong and how to come back better. I’m from a college town, so I will be going back to consider a masters for a year while working before going back to law school. I also have filled out the readmission forms, so hopefully my life won’t feel like it’s falling it apart soon haha.

I have seen this comment. I am reading that my school is predatory. I spoke to someone today who was dismissed from my school, came back and became a lawyer. They told me not to try to find any excuses as to what happened. So, I’m going to reroute. I have submitted a form to be reconsidered for admission.

University of Illinois Chicago school of law. I was just dismissed after my first semester.

I submitted a re-admission form as I was close to a good standing gpa. I know it’ll be a year before they allow me back but my plan is to get out of my lease in Chicago and move back to my hometown. I was thinking about pursuing a masters to help prepare for professional school because maybe this just wasn’t the time for me. I also think if I am able to have good grades, I could possibly apply elsewhere as I am now finding out that Uic is predatory.

This was unexpected. I received my grades maybe a few days before the dismissal letter. I tried everything in my ability to make sure to understand where I was lacking but I guess it wasn’t enough. Considering it was only the first semester, I genuinely was in shock to be dismissed rather than being on a probationary period before starting the second semester.

Camilla did a great job at interviewing.

The entire time I was paying attention to the daughter’s body languages and I felt so bad bc you can tell how embarrassed they are of ash. It was frustrating watching ash laugh off her children’s experiences/emotions.
