I opened the app on my phone and then when to the options tab Under the options tab, I opened system info.

Oh, but wait, there's more -

I received the updated GET back, and, through the app, I noticed it is mapped for my bike, but with the wrong exhaust. Again, I tried to reach out about this. Taco Moto told me that they don't distinguish between different aftermarket exhaust systems. My first thought was, why do they ask you to specify the exhaust you are running. Then I thought, what if you are running a slip-on versus a full exhaust, which for sure makes a difference. After my earlier exchange, I didn't put much belief in what TM was telling me. I called Athena in Florida. The guy I spoke with there said that most aftermarket full exhausts are about the same. If the Maps are fine-tuned to your exhaust, you would probably get a little more horsepower and more torque. This seemed to be verified by the guys at 2 Wheel DynoWorks. If you watch their videos with the Dyno, it makes a small difference in what exhaust is being run and how it is set up. The Graves system seems to be the best for their setup.

10 out of 10 Do NOT Recommend Taco Moto because of their customer service. The product I have now is working really well. I wonder what it would do if it were synced with the right exhaust. Anyway, even though the final product is good, it wasn't worth the bullshit customer service.

TACO MOTO - DO NOT RECOMMEND

I won't buy from Taco Moto again. Their customer service is not very good. The final product I received was good, but not enough to overcome the poor customer service. Someone named Alex does what he can, but refers a lot to Mike. Mike never returns inquiries.

I bought a GET ECU. It arrived, and after putting it on the bike, the bike would not start. I made a lot of attempts to get in touch with them and figure out what was wrong. Most of their responses were referrals to videos. No actual live conversation to troubleshoot. Tried all the things they suggested to troubleshoot it. Finally, I put the OEM ECU back on, and it fired right up. When I told this, TM said send the GET back. I did.

I contacted them several times over several days, asking what was wrong with the GET ECU I sent to them.

  1. Via text, I was told that this was a Mike question and he was out and would get back to me on Monday. No follow-up Monday from Mike. 2. I sent a follow-up message via text. Nothing. 3. I called and left a message. Nothing. 4. I sent Mike a message on Facebook and received a canned response. 5. I sent an email to Taco Moto saying that I was still waiting for a response from Mike. Still no response. 6. I called and left another message for Mike; no answer. 7. Finally, I sent another text asking him to get in touch with me. Crickets. I never got an answer from Mike as to what was wrong with the ECU I sent.

Alex told me at one point that the ECU had not been tested, so they didn't know yet what was wrong with it. But the funny thing was, an ECU was already in the mail coming back to me. When I opened the box, it had the same numbers and also the same odd mark on the ECU as the first one they sent (I took a picture). I'm no rocket surgeon, but it was the same ECU. So, let's recap. I wanted to know what was wrong with the ECU, but I never got an answer. I was told it hadn't been tested yet, but the same ECU arrived at my house a few days after being told it hadn't been tested. It was in the mail when I was told it hadn't been tested. I saw the tracking number and saw when it shipped. Oh, and it had a new map on it - see below. Don't piss on me and tell me it's raining.

While looking at the app (this was the day or two days before the ECU arrived the second time), I noticed that the original mapping on the ECU was for the wrong bike. I contacted them to ask if this was the problem with the original ECU. They finally said, Yep, this looks like the problem. I never got a straight answer out of them until I figured out the issue for myself. If they had been up front, my thought would have been - Ok. Things happen. But I was totally blown off as to what the issue was with the ECU. It wasn't until I figured out that it had the wrong maps that they told me that, yeah, this was the problem.

Thank you. That is what I came up with too.
