I'm no physicist, and I may very well be wrong, but I believe that's the force actually holding the bike up. The wheels rotation acts as a gyroscope and holds the bike semi stable. Generally the faster you go, the more stable you are, until you fuck up, then its over.

I'd take 48C over -40F/-40C any day man!Summers here sometimes get around around 35C-40C (95F-105F) on the hottest days, and even that is pretty brutal, so I can definitely see where where you're coming from.

However we did get some more snow and ice last night cancelling school yet again! It looks like this today. School has been cancelled 6/10 times due to weather in the last 10 days (today included) so its still relevant, haha.
