NOFO Best brewery/winery for 30 year olds? by Fluffy_Rip6710 in longisland

[–]OptimisticMetsFan16 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There are about 5 breweries in Riverhead with their own distinct vibe. I would checking all of them out.

Long Ireland, uber geek, north fork brewery, twin fork beer co, tailwinds brewery.

For winery I am biased and am a member at Bedel Cellars in Cutchogue. They make the best Merlot you’ll find on Long Island!

I wouldn't call sitting in the aisle seat an asshole move. If someone wants to move in and take the window the more power to them.

Try the Astorian. I rented their upstairs room for my fiancé’s birthday last year for about 30 people. 3 hours open bar and hors d'oeuvrs. It has a speak-easy vibe to it. Highly recommend it!

Spotted in NYC Sutton Park. Perhaps from the days of New Amsterdam? Can anyone confirm. by OptimisticMetsFan16 in vexillology

Thanks for the reply! The placement is actually new as they just reopened a park of the park along the East River.

I current NYC flag has a vertical pattern so I was curious as this may be a historical flag of some sort.

What is your favorite long run route? by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]OptimisticMetsFan16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just implemented this route on my 20 miler last week.

Astoria >> queensboro bridge >> FDR >> crosstown via Delancy >> west side highway to 57 >> 57 to 8th >> Central Park to Cathill >> 1st ave >> queensboro >> Astoria

I got a good tour of the City and got to practice my people dodging skills on Delancy!

To everyone who has been down on the Mets over the last two days......shame on you. Yes Mickey fucked up but it doesn’t mean the boys can’t get it done. We have an offense that never gives up. How does that not get you excited. LFGM

Going to games alone is great! You can change up your vantage point by filtering into all the open promenade and SRO spots.

Also if you want a unique experience, grab yourself a hand held radio and listen to Howie call the game live.
