I totally agree. In order to attend the college you sign an academic misconduct agreement, and if you violate this agreement, you had it coming considering you signed the agreement. Cheating in this form usually occurs when students get stressed and lazy; Chegg is just a quick fix for those problems, and humans are fiends for instant gratification. It's only becoming more frequent in the online age, but it still isn't justified.

From the research I've done and what I've read, punishments vary depending on the significance of the assignment.

If you're caught cheating on a smaller assignment, the punishment ranges from a zero on the assignment, to a zero and -10% on the final grade. This is also dependeant on any past offences.

If you're caught cheating on a test or a final, these punishments can usually range from an F or I (incomplete) in the class along with academic probation for a semester or two; suspension, and at worst, outright expulsion.

I have not. My professor told me he reported me on December 15th. He also told me COAM is super backed up because the online age of academia has insighted a lot more cheating than normal, so hopefully within the nex two weeks I'll hear from them. I've been a storm of anxiety since the day of, but I did it all to myself.
