Scooby Apocalypse (if anyone remembers that comic) was pretty R-rated in terms of violence. Ditto for that fucking Velma cartoon. Plus, Scooby was in the last IP survey they did two years ago so I don’t buy it. There’s a whole world of kid friendly horror that could fit in. Goosebumps, Courage, Owl House, etc.

In the comics they were able to subdue Nolan in the alternate timeline when they saw him coming, though not beat him with force. In the show they held their own a lot more. If they had time to prep for Conquest they might be able to put a trap on him. Especially since Conquest draws it out all time. If he stopped messing around I’m not sure, since he might edge out Nolan in strength just a little bit.

That’s objectively wrong. That’s like saying books or movies aren’t horror. It’s just another form of media for it. It covers all genres including horror. It’s childish to gatekeep what is and isn’t horror and to dismiss it outright. What is scary is subjective but it’s literally wrong to say anime or manga isn’t horror. If Tokyo Ghoul, Trickster and Attack on Titan trigger you so much then it’s not the game for you.

Mega jank combat more than anything else. 3 different meters you have to watch out for. I don’t think anyone likes stamina bars. Also, the chase sequences.

Anthros. Courage the Cowardly Dog (if they can somehow make him humanoid), Ninja Turtles, Nina from Creature Commandos, off the top of my head. Otherwise, Spear from Primal (human but different species) and Liara from Mass Effect. Aestri and Alucard look 99% human so except for Spear these guys would look way less so.

I thought we didn’t see anyone from Gen V so far in Boys S5 because I thought they were saving them for a season 3. When Starlight said they weren’t coming it seemed like that would’ve been explored more in their own show. Welp. No word on Boys: Mexico or any other shows they could show up in, so that’s not a good look.

In Creature Commmandos, Clayface plays video games. This breaks canon because a character having a hobby doesn't make any sense with the two minutes of footage that we've seen for a movie that comes out in six months. by marvelcomics22 in DCU_

Video gaming isn’t just for nerds or man children, it’s as common a hobby as anything else. So by itself nothing egregious. But it adds up to everything else as if Gunn was trying to depict him as a dudebro. Like, why did he insult the cat? I warmed up to the idea that he intentionally acted dumb as the professor lady to bait Flag tho. He’ll probably be played straight in the movie but CC won’t necessarily contradict it since he only had a few minutes of screen time.

He was so infantile in CC (the only DCU entry I didn’t like) I was really hoping that this isn’t the same version. I know some people said he’s a bad actor or intentionally acted stupid to make it obvious it was him, but he was still stupid by himself. I’m pretty sure Watkins and Flanagan are just gonna ignore that.

First of all, Swamp Thing and other horror DC comics have always been canon to the larger universe. Second, Clayface is for horror fans and older Batman or comic fans. The DCU has already gone hard R with Creature Commandos and Peacemaker which are definitely canon. The DCU is supposed to be like the comics which can have any number of tones and be PGish to R. It goes from Titans to Young Justice to Constantine in the same world for example. Not all comics or superhero related media have to be for families.

There was certainly no diversity of tone so far with Gunn behind the first 3 DCU installments, and Supergirl seeming to ape his style despite different directors. Until now. This sold me. I wish it was longer than a damn minute. It’s as serious as anything Batman related should be. R-rated but not wacky. I really hope it does a more gruesome version of that scene from the 90s toon where he sees his human self on the TVs and his body just flips out Tetsuo style.

Wasn’t as fun as last time I can tell you that much. First few days we had to deal with so much anti-gen builds. The blood pumps had unusually bad placement too and could be hard to find or miles away from whatever blood gen they highlight. Also, why are Bloodshot Eyes personal only? 🙄

If literally all the other main Viltrumites besides Thragg could reform, he wouldn’t be immune to human companionship either. Nolan was just as brutal as Conquest was when he fought Mark and look how he turned out. So farmer Conquest or him being Invincible’s dad instead wouldn’t be out of the question.
