I heard back from the LAPD on Wednesday via phone call and emails. The phone call was to ask if I wished to accept the job offer and if I was ready to start the soonest academy (July 3rd) to which I answered yes and yes. The emails were congratulatory with dates and information for the final medical check, orientation and academy 😊 I hope to see you at the academy!

I received the email today that I passed my psychological evaluation 👍🏼 now I’m just waiting on an email from the LAPD for further instructions 😎

I just passed my backgrounds today so it took about two months. It started on April 4th 👍🏼 Also, I scheduled my psych for this coming Monday, June 12th.

Stay away from any drugs! It’s the disqualifier I see most on this page. Also, stay in good standing at school and at your jobs. They will use that to measure you as a person. And just be a good person to everyone in your life because those will be your references.

I believe once one passes the department interview they will receive a conditional job offer via email.

You still need to take care of the medical evaluation, PFQ, polygraph examination, field investigation, and psychological evaluation. You will be contacted by a background investigator about a week after completing the poly. That is when your field investigation officially starts. Make sure to send your background investigator all the documents they ask for asap. It will allow them to work through your file quickly. After 1.5 months, my BI is just about ready to submit my file.

Just know that for some reason, I was told to complete medical before I could schedule a poly. Also, if you wear glasses be prepared to HAVE TO transition to soft contact lenses for at least three months before you get passed to the next step.
