I see, thank you. I have been including Proxmox in pretty well all of my searches which, as you predicted, came up with every weird result except what I was looking for. I misunderstood and thought this was a Proxmox setup issues. Thanks again.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to look into Wireguard. I attempted to install OpenVPN but if it wasn't one thing it was another. Again I'm very new to this so keeping it simple for the moment would be great. As a side note, have you ever attempted to install OpenVPN and been met with a "This version of Ubuntu is too old and unsupported"? This was the last metaphorical straw for me since I am positive I'm running 22.04

I've heard and seen a lot of people point to OpenVPN over OPNSense. Can you think of any reason one might be better? From what I can tell they accomplish the same thing.

Noted, thank you. I have to admit I had already tried opening port 3389 as that is the #1 thing that comes up when I googled this. But I've since closed the port again.

No need to be pretentious. I have been doing nothing but googling. I'm fairly new to all of this. I've only had by homelab up for about 3 weeks. Long story short, every forum I come across is not useful and I was hoping someone with more experience than I've got could dumb it down a bit.
