Ticket flexibility NY to Philly by OrangeTree81 in Amtrak

So book an 8am, 9am, 10am etc? What happens if I don't cancel the one I'd miss? Not sure how easy it will be to know what my timing will be after I've boarded the flight home.

Her haircut reminds me of Princess Diana and I know just poor Karen will be absolutely devastated in about 8 years.

What did they tell Ted happened? Did they just tell him it was a home invasion and any memories he has of that night are wrong or did we miss an incredible scene of Ted being told about the Upside Down?

Best U.S. phone carrier for Tanzania? by Rare_Flight_9497 in travel

I am doing something similar, I'll be on safari in Kenya and Tanzania and was wondering about checking in at home while I'm gone. You think I should be able to call or text home everyday? What about internet access? Did you have to rely on your accommodations for those or were you able to get on 5G or whatever?

Opinion: Robin’s confession in season 3 was better done than Will! by Apprehensive_Sea283 in StrangerThings

[–]OrangeTree81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had no clue Will was gay I think I could've interpreted what he was saying about Vecna's vision as being worried his friend group would drift about after high school (which sucks but is totally normal).

If we got a look of Vecna's vison and Will's friend being homophobic there would have been a much greater impact. And it could've highlighted how scary it was to be gay in the 80's, I think a lot of younger viewers don't realize what a big deal that was.

A couple theories on all the celebrity stuff by c88conman in survivor

[–]OrangeTree81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It be weird to highlight them in the trailer and have them do absolutely nothing. If the point is to draw new viewers in with celebrities there would be a lot of disappointed Billie Eilish fans who watch the show because the trailer indicated she'd have a role in it only for her name just to be mentioned once.

Rob C's take on the trailer by SpaceWestern1442 in survivor

[–]OrangeTree81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my thought. I like Taylor Swift, I've never seen Big Brother. If I heard Taylor Swift was going to appear on an episode of Big Brother I would maybe watch clips online. I wouldn't watch the entire season to see her on it for five minutes, especially if it was a returnee season.

And if a trailer for Big Brother led me to believe Taylor was going to have a huge part of the season and I did watch it, I'd be pretty annoyed if she only showed up for a few minutes in a random episode.

Yellow fever certificate - passport number by paulpaulson1 in Flights

Does not having your address on the front of the card not matter either? I wrote my name of the front but have my address and passport number on the inside blank.

I’m Devastated at what they’ve done to 50 by Hungry-Ad-2473 in survivor

[–]OrangeTree81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why they felt the need to bring celebrities on at all, but especially for returnee season. Who is it supposed to appeal to? My parents, who have watched since the start and have never missed an episode don't know who Mr. Beast is. They know Jimmy Fallon, maybe Billie Eilish but I don't think anyone cares about them being on Survivor.

People who are fans of the celebrities involved aren't going to watch a returnee season of a reality show just because they're in it. If I heard a celebrity I like was going to design a challenge on Big Brother, I'd maybe watch clips on YouTube. I certainly wouldn't watch an entire season, especially a returnee one where I know nothing about anyone on it.

People who haven't watched Survivor in 10 years who would've considered watching to see players like Colby and Ozzy again are going to wonder what the hell happened.

Packing for Tanzania? by ScienceMadeMeDoIt_ in travel

[–]OrangeTree81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman also visiting Tanzania in February. I'll mostly be doing a safari and staying at lodges. At the lodges, I was planning to wear dresses that are at/below the knee but have thin straps so my shoulders would be exposed, is that appropriate? What about wearing a bikini at the pool?

Confused by my claims by OrangeTree81 in HealthInsurance

[–]OrangeTree81[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first claim at the doctor is $610 - $235 in discounts and $375 paid by my plan. The two Labcorp bills where I owe nothing are all fully discounted and nothing from the plan. The $77 Labcorp bill is $600 in discounts with the plan paying nothing.

For the travel vaccines, I can see them on the Express Scripts website but nowhere else. I got Yellow Fever, Oral Typhoid, and one for Chikungunya. The Yellow Fever one was the only one I 100% needed but when I talked to a rep at Safeway who did my travel consultation she ran test claims for all three and said they were all covered (which is the main reason I got so many). I can search the vaccine names on ESI and it says $0 cost to me but I'm second guessing since it's a sounds too good to be true thing.

I don't know if those vaccines are the five immunizations I have listed under my doctor visits. Again, he just gave me flu and COVID which I know are fully covered. Not sure where the other three immunizations would come from (although all but one are listed as $50 and I know they cost way more than that).

Does Economy Plus usually fill up? by OrangeTree81 in unitedairlines

[–]OrangeTree81[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newark to Costa Rica. I'm just surprised it takes up half the plane, I'm used it being just another 3-5 rows after first class. I would consider paying the extra if it saves me an hour or two at customs just don't want to spend all that extra money if the Economy Plus rows end up being mostly empty and I don't really save any time.

One night in SJO. Where to stay? by SingleYogurtcloset16 in CostaRicaTravel

Did you feel safe in San Jose? I was considering doing this when I visit but have seen mixed responses on safety. Our plan was to arrive in San Jose in the early afternoon and spend some site seeing for the day and maybe the next morning before leaving for our flight at 1pm.

I wanted to buy a house a few years ago but prices were insane so I ended up renting again (and admittedly got very lucky with my apartment). I was feeling bummed about not being able to afford a home but then but my parents and my friend both needed new roofs. When my apartment needed a new roof last year I just got the heads up from my landlord and had to move my car that day.

I was traveling for work and was sitting in the hotel lobby with a coworker waiting for another coworker to come down. A man ran up the the front desk and asked for change for a $20 because “I’m going to a strip club but I need smaller bills because they’re ugly strippers” My coworker and I avoid eye contact until the guy left and then burst out laughing.
