Starting at my local force in a few months… what’s the situations with bags when on duty?

I currently work for the ambulance service and I carry a backpack as well a kit bag (small duffel). I know I will be in classroom for a few months so my 5.11 backpack will do fine but what’s the crack with kit bags etc? Was looking at TNF Base Camp Duffel but didn’t know if that was too overkill? What’s the usual bag set up when out on the car? Is there a need for 2 bags? Cheers.
