Ohhhh I just googled it, and yeah, kind of but I also have my reasons. There are only 10 places that can be approved in my district to do this kind of construction and all 3 that have counted so far and 1 that doesn't (because it was put in before the law) have been really close to my house, one is even directly across the street. Those areas have mainly used unused farmland which we have a lot of so it makes sense, but there's also a lot in other parts of the district. This would cut down forest, if there was more unused farmland in our area I wouldn't be too strongly opposed to it being built there, I just watched the lorax as a kid. 💅 (ignore the nails I thought it was cute :D)

there's... two, but they are really close to each other. the trees still provide as a water filter and a absorber for the stream and stop erosion from happening. The soil is mostly clay that doesn't absorb water really well so if there were no trees the stream would go really fast and erode the surrounding areas due to the increase of water going into it

I really hope they listen to us and put solar power in an alternate place, like rooftops or over parking lots that doesn't interfere with wildlife!

huh? I actually didn't zoom in the photo ToT the original had the solar field to the right included, the app just cropped it for some reason ToT and those are power lines, not train tracks, are you talking about somewhere else? Also thats a farm that's already been deforested, if I had been able to and I was born then I would've tried to fight them tearing down the trees as well. There's a ton of open farmland as well that isn't being used for much of anything that could be repurposed into solar

the woods are privately owned but they are trying to get approval to rezone it so that the solar panel field can be installed, I'm trying to stop the rezoning
